Went to Christine's (6/20) with friends. Service was excellent. Rich, our server, was top notch. Never rushed us. We sat down at 6 & finished up around 8:15. All the food was spaced out very well.
Ron, the owner was as friendly as always. Sat...down with us for a quick chat, made us feel like family.
Started with the Seared Ahi Tuna, my wife & I shared, which came over a salad with a spicy dressing, was excellent.
Had the Swordfish Steak which came on a bone (looked like a chop) with green beans. My wife had the Halibut & friends shared the Kansas City Pork Chop. The entire meal was awesome.
Always a great place to have a meal. Was missed during the lockdown. Cannot wait to go back.More
Place is quaint and cozy. We sat at the outdoor section for 6 of us last night. Ordered a ton of food and all was superb. Veal meatballs were super moist and great flavor, artichoke special in a francaise was light but tasty, Italian egg...rolls were tasty ( looked like a lot of work went into it, thought it was just ok ) Ordered two pastas as a second course to taste, rigatoni in a light vodka sauce was delicious. Other pasta dish was cavatelli with sausage and broccoli rabe, and this may have been or is the best I ever tasted. Pasta was cooked al dente and dish had beautiful flavors. We ordered the veal special (3 people) and it was insane... Other people ordered to chicken Danielle and it was excellent but peppers had a bit of a kick but was a good. Desert was limoncello cake which was light airy but lemony and left a great taste in ur mouth .. I would without a doubt try this restaurant and we will be back. Rich was our waiter and was attentive and checked on us throughout an Ronnie the owner made his rounds to make sure we were satisfied . We will be back as soon as we can get in again !!!More
Had a wonderful dinner at Christine's this past weekend with friends. Dishes are carefully prepared and soooo delicious. We started with the artichoke franchese - which was outstanding. Two in our party had the pounded veal chop with melted cheese - a magnificent dish, could...not stop commenting on how good it was! The special of fusili with veal sauce was also really delicious and such a large portion. Menu is pricey but you get what you pay for - really excellent, high quality food. The staff, including the owner, comes by frequently to ask how things are - which is an indicator of a great restaurant. HIGHLY recommend.More
This restaurant is nicely decorated and the service was amazing. Had a fabulous dinner, Shrimp Oreganata for hubby and I had delicious lasagna, half I brought home. The shrimp were large and plentiful and ssuteed with panko, garlic and wine. They were served with broccoli....The lasagna was the largest portion
I've ever seen. The restaurant
is BYOB. The hostess, Sophia,
was very helpful as was the wait staff lead by Matthew .
We would definitely return.More
First time that a group of us came to this restaurant after hearing about it for so long.
We all were ecstatic with all the items we ordered.
We all tasted each other‘s food, but I must tell you that the steak that was served,...a New York strip, is the best in the area, bar none. It was a good 2 1/2 to 3 inches thick and 20 ounces. There is not a better steak in the area.
The veal chop Florentine, which is their signature dish, did not disappoint.
We will be making this a regular place to visit.More
We had a wonderful dinner last night. Artichoke appitizer was so fresh and full of flavor. I ordered the salmon and have never had a salmon combination which satisfied my taste buds as this. My husband ordered the pork chop with vinegar peppers. He could...not believe how delicious this dish was. The deserts were the finishing touch. The vanilla caramel crunch cake and the pistachio raspberry tortoni were super fine.
Everyone at the restaurant treated us like family. Chef Ron introduced himself and immediately welcomed us into the fold. We will now be regulars visiting this wonderful establishment. A special thank you to Chef Ron and his staff for a wonderful evening.More
We live in the town of Atlantic Highlands so are in Christine's about once a month. The owner/Chef is Ron, known as Ronnie to all his friends and Customers. It's very traditional Italian cuisine. Lots of fish dishes, meat dishes, Pasta and anything you could...wish for. The portions are huge, so we always bag it up for the next day. It's a BYOB restaurant. Very reasonably price. The service is amazing. Ronnie will probably come and say 'hello' at your table. You will need a Reservation because this is so good and so popular that they are busy most nights. The signature dish is the Veal chop and I highly recommend it.More
I love visiting the Atlantic Highlands/Highlands and Christines gives me one more reason. The owner, Ron, makes everyone feel very welcome along with his staff. The service was excellent. This BYOB is in the center of First Ave with street parking or a municipal lot...close by.
We started with some tasty (light on the garlic) bread and roasted red peppers brought to the table.
Italian egg roll-stuffed with sausage/broccoli rabe- different and very good
Eggplant rollatine-very good
Stuffed Artichoke bottoms oreganata-delicious!
Rare seared tuna with bruschetta topping- this was a special- nicely down
Veal chop Milanese
Halibut with spinach/roasted potatoes
All the entrees were very good. My halibut was prepared with my special request-kudos to the chef.
limoncello cake and Tartufo.
Christines is well worth the trip as it offers great food, ambiance and friendly service. Can easily be a favorite in the Atlantic Highlands. We already have plans to return.More
Started the with Italian egg rolls. These were fabulous. For entre, had the special lasagne with sweet and hot Italian sausage and veal which was unique, stuffed and plentiful. Service was very prompt and on point. Chef Ron was very gracious and accomodating.
