Went on recommendation from high end local business people. Flounder and chicken Francese wer so soaked in oil they were inedible. High end Olive Garden for the great salad and bread. Upper Floors are not level, so seating is a balancing act. Server was kind...but hurried. Huge disappointment.More

Chef Vola's - what's all the hype about?! It's about a dining experience you would expect when you sit down with your family to enjoy an authentic Italian home cooked meal! From the moment you enter you feel as if you a part of a...family and then reality hits you when the smells from the kitchen comes upon you. Posh Foody was greeted by owner Lou. But then we witnessed that Lou greets everyone as if you are his family. This was great to see knowing that the food would be treated with the same love & respect that the owner has for all his customers. So call Chef Vola's now to make a reservation since it will be approximately 3 weeks minimum before you will be able to enter. Is the wait worth it... ABSOLUTELY! Make sure you mention Posh Foody to Lou when you go!!! Bon Appetit !!More

I’d give Chef Vola’s 6 stars if I could. The food was amazing. I had the veal park, my wife had the chicken parm, and we shared a side of penne with bolognese sauce. We knew it was BYOB, but ran out of time to...stop before our reservations. They were kind enough to send a runner to a nearby store to pick up a bottle of wine for us. Delicious food, great atmosphere, fantastic customer service. We’ll be back!More

If you are looking for an old school Italian experience of the Boardwalk Empire style days during Atlantic City Boardwalk’s heyday you don’t have to look any further than Chef Vola’s where you feel like you will have to know the special knock on the...door for them answer. You can’t just walk into Chef Vola’s or call them up, use grubhub, doordash, etc. to order from them. You need to leave a message for them to call you back after you advise the day and time you want to dine with them (and be sure to give a month or two advance notice) and they will tell you if you’ve been accepted and confirmed or if they are fully booked. They were allowing take-out, but you still had to know the secret password to order with them, but they have now ceased doing take-out orders. Well let me tell you no matter how you dine with them, you need to make sure you do. They food was absolutely delicious and amazing. I had the Milk Fed Veal medallions with Peppers, mushrooms and onions, sautéed in extra virgin olive oil and Garlic that just blew me away how great it was. I normally don’t eat veal or enjoy it most times, but it was recommended and let me tell you it is a must order if you go. The veal was so tender I was able to cut it with just my fork and the flavor was suburb throughout the dish. Also served was House Salad made with iceberg & romaine lettuce, tomato, cucumbers, pepperoni, sharp provolone cheese, black olives, pepperoncini peppers, chopped red onions and garlic croutons, topped with anchovies with their house extra virgin olive oil/balsamic vinaigrette dressing served on the side, broiled half of chicken cut up, and Butterscotch and rum ricotta cheese pie.More

A few weeks ago, my wife sent me a list of the best Italian restaurants in NJ. She did so because one was in the adjouring town. She didn't know we were going to AC, and Chef Vola is rated # 2. But mentioned best...Veal in NJ. I had to get it. Veal Parm with the bone. It was AMAZING !!!! Also enjoyed the pasta three ways !!! Never saw that in any Italian Restaurant. I heard there is a long waiting list to get in, and now I know why !!! So glad we were able to. The waitress talked me into the Chocolate Peanut Butter pie. She said it traveled well. It sure did, It traveled home, and then never made it into the fridge !!! Thanks for a great dinner !!!More

This place was hands down amazing! The food portions are very generous and the servers are very nice. What I loved the most was the owner coming around saying hello to everyone. I got the 2 crab cakes and my husband got the veal. So...freaking good! Also the sautéed spinach and pasta with rigatoni Blush sauce was just perfect. Their homemade desserts rock!More

After calling several times to try and get a reservation, I was sorry I pursued it so hard. The food was a complete let down. I get the prices, it's BYOB, so they are making up the money they would get in alcohol with higher...prices. Honestly, I would not have cared if the food was good- it was not. I have had better food at Jersey pizza joints. We started with tomatoes with fresh mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto- it was just ok- cheese and prosciutto just too thick. Hubby got the veal parm on the bone which is their claim to fame- again meh- way too much cheese and sauce. I ordered the broiled lobster tail- came out steamed and smelling completely fishy- sent it back. The waiter did not seem surprised which was what pissed me off the most- don't serve if it's bad. Also got a side of broccoli rabe w/garlic- inedible- I didn't bother to send it back at 14.95, I should have. It was completed obliterated, overcooked, flavorless- could get better veg at a hospital cafeteria. Best thing was the bread and the tiramisu. Not worth the hassle of trying to get a table. And totally interesting-cash only, but they take your CC in case you don't show, they can charge your card for that. Complete rip off- I will say the staff was very friendly, did not make up for horrible food though.More

While I’ve only dined in the basement portion and not the porch I’d say No, it’s probably not handicapped accessible. On the other hand these are some really nice people who own and operate the restaurant so I’m sure they... More
