About
Our Restaurant and Coffeeshop is dedicated to homegrown organic speciality coffee and organic vegetarian food featuring flavors from all over the world. We run a coffee roastery and are specialized on vegetarian and vegan gourmet food, Asian fusion and on the second floor we host an Ayurvedic SPA. We try to sustain our Restaurant with organic food produced on our own farm or from neighbor farms located in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Our coffee is roasted freshly every 2–3 weeks, here at our shop by —Soul Seed Coffee Roastery— With the income from our Coffeeshop we support Fundacion Make me Smile Colombia, which dedicates itself to the support of the local communities, indigenous groups and reforestation projects. visit us in Santa Marta, a charming coastal town at Colombia's Caribbean coast.

Hands down the best clean organic vegan food we found in Colombia. I was pleasantly surprised by various options for vegans in Colombia (bogota, Cartagena, Isla
Grande) but Ikaro takes the cake. We just spent a week sitting in Ayahuasca ceremonies in Peru so the name Ikaro (Icaros are songs Shaman’s learn from and then sign to plants) was in the forefront on my brain. I was immediately drawn to this cafe and so happy I was. Aesthetically the space was so soothing, There’s day beds to Lounge on and they will bring you food on a tray if you wish to eat on them, a wall filled with plants and a waterfall with fish. The music was amazing - I had Shazam going on all of our 4 meals there and there’s free WiFi. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and just radiated kindness which isn’t surprising given the vibe of the space. My first meal was pancakes which I never order but after being in Dieta and the notion of them being vegan and gluten free I figured I could use the sustenance. So delicious! I also ordered a banana, aguacate and leche de almendra shake. It was so nice to have food that wasn’t over seasoned / sweetened. With the inclusion of the tip in the bill, my meal cost me $7 USD. I couldn’t get an almond milk / avocado / banana shake in SF alone for $7.
The second meal I had was Pad Thai and I chose an egg over tofu. Best pad Thai I’ve ever had. So much flavor but again not overdone. Also discovered they had Coca leaf lemonade! I had been looking for coca leaf tea everywhere and finally found it here in lemonade form. The next morning I had toast (thick gluten free bread I think they make in house) with avocado, egg, goat cheese, onions and hummus that came with a side of platano chips - also amazing and ordered a Mexican plate to go for our time spent in a little village near Tayrona Park. Also the ice cream is made in house and vegan!!! I had pistachio after my breakfast and this too was so good and not over sweetened. I am so grateful for this space.
Every single time the food and service were amazing. After spending 3 hours there during our first meal (charging phones and using WiFi) I apologized to our server saying it was just such an amazing and comfortable space we couldn’t help ourselves. He replied with complete sincerity and a smile that we were welcome to spend as much as time as we wanted there. The next day after our breakfast I noticed him in the kitchen making food for guests so idk if he was the owner but it was such a place filled with love and the food absolutely reflects that. Muchas Gracias Ikaro! We will return.

Everything was delicious, at very good prices, healthy and served nicely and quickly
I felt sick when I arrived and after I had a golden milk I got really better. Ingredients are fresh and of the best quality.
There's variety and the menu is even attractive for a non-vegan/vegetarian

I am a regular customer at Ikaro and my most recent visit was one of my worst due to the terrible service. Our waitress was unhelpful, we were told there were no pancakes but when we questioned as we saw other tables eating them we were told that she said no originally because they take too long to cook, we were brought an extra coffee and were overcharged various items (the breakfast combo was on the bill with all items separately, not the breakfast combo price). Whenever we wanted to order anything we had to go inside to ask for someone to attend to our table. The service was also automatically added to our bill which I understand is common practice here, but in the circumstances (and the extra items on the bill) it felt very inappropriate. Such a shame the service is of such low quality as the coffee, location, setting and food is great!

Really, the worst coffee ever that I have ever had. I asked very hot flat white and also mineral water and they gave me cap of cold coffee with foam and very strange bottle
of water with lid that is not closed. Took me 9500 p that is very very expensive. Also arond sit only young travelers are bored

Came on two different days, and quite different experiences.
First time we loved the chilled traveller vibe, had amazing juices & smoothies and huge tasty sandwiches.
Second time the juices weren’t as thick or cold, the same sandwich was much smaller, and the 2 cakes we tried were both dry and disappointing.
Came a third time for dinner and that was pretty good, great smoothie, but portions quite small again.
Still a cool place, and lovely to hang out, use the wifi, relax, and have some food and drink, but it can be hit or miss with the quality.

Really good coffee and drinks, I had the Oreo Frappuccino and it was delicious ! This place is great if you like lots of veggies and healthy options, me and my fiancé ordered the pad Thai and it was enjoyable. However if you are looking for authentic pad Thai this is not it, the dish was good with lots of veggies and an egg on top but it was more of a stir fry then pad Thai. The vibe of the cafe is also really nice and relaxing, service was good better then a lot of the other places I’ve been too in Colombia and overall I enjoyed my meal and stay!

We walked pasted this cafe one morning during our stay in Santa Marta, as we had dined in the restaurant next door the previous evening.
Outside tables available, with most seating indoors.
Friendly and efficient service and an extensive menu of speciality coffees and smoothies.
Also serving breakfast dishes, including a porridge dish with fruit.
Great atmosphere and ideal for morning or afternoon coffees.
Highly recommended!

We had breakfast here twice because I needed great wifi for a couple of work projects. The LEgend, a goat cheese and avocado breakfast sandwich was fresh and delicious. The coffee was perfect. Service is good but a bit relaxed.

Fantastic food, so many great vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. I had to come back several nights in a row to try a variety and all were great. The fusion of flavours is spot on, so much so I didn't have to drown my food in chilli sauce as I usually do.
The menu is well thought out, wide ranging and simply delicious. Plus friendly staff and a nice atmosphere, with ceiling fans and ambient music. Drinks, breakfasts, salads, sandwiches, starters, mains, desserts, coffee, tea, juices too. I intend to return as many times as I can before I leave.

This was disappointing. Cute place but service is terrible. I had to wait over 20 minutes for a flat white and 2 waters. I understand the coffee if they are busy (which they werent) but it seems like the servers cant even go behind the counter to get a simple water. So water takes as long as food. It arrived after my coffee. All menu items are 100% vegetarian. Not one single egg at this coffee/breakfast place. So eating here for breakfast was a no go for my taste buds. It’s not just super healthy, it’s very green. But maybe I would’ve stayed and tried something if service was decent. I was not gonna wait 40 minutes for a veggie wrap.

Hi. On behlaf of the whole ikaro Team Im very sorry for you experience. We had some issues with our service staff lately and deciced to change most of our team for more profesional waitors. As we tried to find english speaking staff it comes on the cost of service quality because most of them are students and not profesioanl waitors. within the next few days we shall have a new very promising team. About your eggs. I will make a list of all the different dished that come with local organic eggs from our farm : Truffles Omelet, Spinach mushroom Omelete, miso Umami Eggs, Egg Avocado Sandwhich, Pat Thai with Egg andIkaro Como Breakfast. Great food , great coffee and great smoothies . Also really cool interior with the plant wall and the little water pond . All in all def come here for breakfast/lunch or dinner or even just for coffee . Vegans will also be happy here

I discovered this cafe while exploring Santa Marta and liked it so much that I returned two additional times before departing the city. Far and away the BEST pistachio croissants I've ever had in my life! Charming atmosphere, pleasant staff and of course, excellent coffee. Highly recommend for breakfast or lunch, or even for just a quick takeaway snack.

Careful with this place and the moment you pay with credit card! They charged us double for a meal and when we asked them to reverse the transaction they lied to us saying it didnt go through , when at our bank statement clearly went twice. They take advantage of tourists!

We went there to have coffee twice. The coffee was very good, and we honestly didn't find better for the same price in all the towns we went to on the coast from Santa Marta to Riohacha.
I never tried the food though, and the pastries were not good. Go there to have a coffee!

Today is the second time I've visited this cafe in 2 days. Just wanted a snack and ordered the banana chocolate chip cake which is gluten and dairy free. Also ordered a fresh mango juice. The cake is the best I've ever had. Even my husband who hates banana cake ate some and liked it. The juice is made in the moment and tastes great. Staff are friendly and helpful and service is good. Had dinner here last night and we both had a great meal. Prices are very reasonable and portions are more than enough. Coming back again for dinner tonight.
