I was not really into the food but my significant other loved it! He had mondongo which I believe is similar to tripe in USA ... Soup made with cow stomach? He wants to go back! Seems to be popular with the locals. I stuck with guacamole and chips ( plantains )

This place is AWESOME. I rarely go places twice when traveling because I try to sample different restaurants for variety. I could not help but suggest Mondongos again because we had such a good experience the first time. The menu only has about 10 options on it, and it is known for its Mondongo soup and the "traditional" dish. The... More

Had to try the Mondongo soup here. Not sure if it's the best you can get in the area, but the prices were reasonable. The Guanoabana juice was ok, but could have been better. They served a complimentary plate of bananas and huge pieces of avocado!

When I say it's hard to tell the difference between Colombian restaurants because so many are the same, I'm talking about places like Mondongos. The food isn't bad. It's just that you can get this meal anywhere. I've had the mondongo, which is more of a one time thing if you're a tourist, and the churrasco, which was far from... More

The food was tasty and portions very generous. Presentation of the meals was ok. The establishment is large with a high turnover, and this may affect the level of attention to your table. However, once you have the servers attention your request is honored in a jiff. Overall we enjoyed the traditional Columbian cuisine and and returned on several occasions.... More

Mondongo's is local, clean, good food, prices, safe the restaurant and at least during day times (time of my visit) safe neighborhood . Might be off the touristy areas which of course makes to the traveler a local scene destination. If you are merely a tourist, stay close to parque Lleras.

We decided to visit Mondongos after reading reviews and the good rating. There are several good comments about the Bandeja Paisa (Típico Antioqueño). However after trying several Bandeja Paisa at different restaurants during our trip in Medellin, I must say that this was definitely not a good one! We were really disappointed about the quality and taste of the food.... More

My wife had Ajiaco and I had Solomito, both very good-sized portions and prepared very freshly. So service was not immediate but it was still pretty good. The waiters were very friendly and helpful. With two of their special fruit juices and the free coffee, the bill came to a huge 73,200COP including the service charge of 10%. Excellent value.... More
