About
Oh la la Restaurant offers a range of local dishes interpreted by a French Chef and its local Colombian team. Its technique and savoir faire is essentially French with a definite Costeño twist. In a corner of the famous and trendy Getsemani neighbourhood, the restaurant is located in an old colonial house of the Vargas family. The walls and decoration tell about their story. We offer a menu a la Carte as well as daily specials in accordance with seasonal products available from street sellers and local markets. Some of you will be delighted to hear that it is really important to offer some vegetarian alternative. Our gnocchi de yuca with blue cheese are delicious. We are transferring our savoir-faire through some cooking lessons for individuals and for groups for up to 15 people. Atelier de cuisine are also available for children party. Oh la la is located in the heart of trendy Getsemani, on the famous Calle Larga and esquina Vargas.

We had a great time with Carolina, who first took us to Bazurto market in the morning and then showed us how to prepare some staple dishes from the Colombian Caribbean coast. The market experience was incredible and we would highly recommend to go with someone as knowledgable as Carolina. Seeing her haggle the prices made us almost feel like we were shopping for our own restaurant. Preparing all the fresh fruits and vegetables we bought back at the restaurant was great fun. We listened to some music, danced, chatted and most importantly learned a lot about the different ingredients and new flavours. Carolina is not only an amazing chef, but also great fun and it felt like cooking with a friend rather than a cooking class. The dishes we made were super delicious and we even got some of the coconut macarons we made to take home with us. Thanks for this incredible experience!

We did a tour of the bazurto market and cooking class with Caro, and we had a blast! We got to see the market and learn about the local food, and then we went back to the restaurant and learned how to prepare classic Colombian dishes. The class was easy and laid back, we kept busy doing the prep work and Caro and her staff were there to guide us and keep the drinks coming. Most of the delicate parts were handled by the staff, so we didn't have to worry about burnt caramel or overcooked fritters. The food turned out amazing, and I picked up a few skills I can try at home.

My partner and I chose to do a cooking class with Carolina because she offered vegetarian options, and we are incredibly grateful we did so. She brought us to an authentic Colombian market we’re we shopped for fresh ingredients like locals. We had so much fun while preparing lunch, and Carolina taught us lots about Colombian culture. Overall I’m excited to give Carolina and Ohlala a 5/5!

I was conned into going here for an end of tour group meal. We'd been promised Colombian food and got French (guide claimed it was fusion). Even if we'd wanted French, the food was only OK. Service was slow and patchy - some of the drinks we ordered took ages. There was a complementary aperitif of sangria-like wine, which was probably designed to keep us there when some showed signs of leaving without ordering. Much better an cheaper options i Cartagena

We had an exquisite lunch at Ohlala. The restaurant is lovely decorated with artsy retro-elements. The meals were wonderful - Columbian food with a touch of French cuisine. The chef even explained us the ingredients and the specilaties. You can feel his passion for tastes, smells and colors. One of the best restaurants in Cartagena since it offers fresh high quality dishes for really fair prices. Love it!

A fantastic restaurant, myself and friends had a simply wonderful meal here one night during our trip through Colombia. The chef came out personally to go through each and every item on the menu and the two women with him couldn't have been better server's, always with a smile. He was Parisian and cared so much for his customers and put so much care and attention into the food. Big variety in the menu too from pasta and lasagna, to chicken dishes and a host of seafood options. Lovely decor and ambiance with very reasonable prices. Most of all, the food was delicious. A superb dining experience.

We took cooking workshop here - and made traditional Colombian meal which we then enjoyed for dinner! We made a rice with green peppers, a shrimp dish, and a seafood soup. We also made bread with yuca, and a few other sides. We tried a few techniques, and watched the chef make the dishes to learn the techniques and learn about the origin of the ingredients - that is tied into the history of the country. It was fun and a nice experience. My only thing would be to not be afraid to get in there and help and contribute to the cooking - besides that is the point of doing a class right!

We had a wonderful dinner here on a vacation in Cartegena. I really enjoyed the mix of French and Colombian/Caribbean cuisine. It is really masterful and flavorful. I highly recommend the pescado with passion fruit sauce. The flavors are incredible and go so well together. Dessert was fabulous and very tasty, also. Service was prompt and very friendly. Well worth a trip when in Cartegena!

Restaurant in the heart of Gethsemani, large location with high ceilings and well decorated. Fresh products and interesting changing menu, written on a blackboard. Suitable for vegetarians with refined dishes, I recommend the orange and carrot cream, delicious! The staff are helpful and very welcoming.
