It seems a humble place but the strength is hidden: its food is absolutely from Cartagena and from its deepest tradition. Try the pork ribs and the shrimps

A hidden gem in Old Cartagena. Great food, service, and prices. The lime piña colada is so good, you will have two or more. Highly recommended...
The fish in coconut sauce was fine. It was a pain removing the scale, but that’s the norm around these parts. Arroz con coco — which I normally love — could have been better. Seemed pretty dry. The tables were pretty neat though.
This one meets the definition of hole in the wall find. The food was excellent and the customer service was excellent. English only speakers won’t have any issues here.
Great food and service at an affordable price, had the Caribbean Rice, fried Sierra and shrimp, and the delicious coconut lemonade , went there twice
Food was absolutely delicious. My and me and I came on a Monday night. My Wife got the passion fruit mojito and loved it. We shared the croquettes for an appetizer and they were incredible. For dinner, I got the - delicious. My husband got...the paella and loved it. The seafood was so fresh. We each then had an espresso and flan. Everything was great and our server, Alex was so friendly! the tow young ladies and the Chef were incredible, super nice peoplesMore
The best seafood soup I've ever had, and I've had a lot. They gave us a free yam soup to start too, which was delicious. Then my partner had the seafood soup, it was more like a stew to be honest because I'd had so...much seafood in it, but the depth of flavor was fantastic. I have fish of the day equally delicious. If you don't like salty food maybe ask ask for less salty, but I thought it was perfect. Lots of people were ordering the ribs, and they looked amazing. I want to go again. And it's super cheap too.More
Our hotel recommended this restaurant of typical food with reasonable prices (for Cartagena) and we were pleasantly surprised. The setting is pretty, the cazuela de mariscos I thought was delicious, so was the fried fish. Meals came with a small soup. I would recommend this...restaurant. Only open for lunch.More
Thé food was very good, and thé Price (for very expensive Cartagena) was ok. But thé décoration IS awful (almost liké a fait food with bright light), and service awful....thé second course arrived when WE were still eating thé first, a beers never arrives, yet...we felt rushed out to turn thé table. Very disappontint, despite thé fond (marisco soup excellent)More
I first ate at La Mulata in February 2018 and it was incredible - the type of meal you have dreams about after you leave the country. Returning to Cartagena in January 2022, I was thrilled to see that the restaurant was still open, and...I made plans to have lunch there on my first day. I was a little worried about the experience because some restaurants just aren't the same due to pandemic changes; new staff, inexperienced staff, different menu/ingredients. La Mulata did not disappoint! Friendly hostess and servers, I was seated in the lovely garden area that is partially outdoors. I started with a delicious cocktail, they brought me the steaming hot fish soup that I have been thinking about for 4 years, and I had a delicious lunch of seafood and arroz de coco. Make plans to eat here while you are enjoying El Centro! Even if you're staying in Boca or Castillo, make a trip to El Centro to eat at this restaurant!More
An absolutely gem. The food is delicious, very local, and reasonably priced, although slightly more expensive than a ‘formule’ or ‘almuerzo ejecutivo’ elsewhere all over the city, the food here is worth every peso.
Small menu but great food. The lemonade was amazing and definitely recommended. The service was great and it’s right across the street from the Castillo. It has a nice, shady patio to get out of the sun.
We visited this backstreet restaurant after finding it on Tripadvisor and were very impressed. Easy to find in the Cartagena old town district, we sat inside, but it seems there is outdoor seating to the rear. Limited menu, but every dish was well presented and...very well prepared. Drinks menu was very good, with several wines available, but we stayed with Cuba Libres, which were fabulous! Our favourite dish was the prawns with a wholemeal rice, very tasty! Staff very friendly and efficient. Highly recommended!More
From the minute you step in you feel welcome by the coziness of the space. The space is absolutely beautiful and unique, the food is traditional and delicious. The employees are very kind and friendly. A must!
Fantastic and authentic place. Inexpensive for Europeans. The best ceviche place in town. Portions are large and very tasty ! Perfect place for sea food lovers.
