Our dining experience at La Mulata was excellent! From the complimentary seafood soup that came out to the entrees that we ordered, it was one of the better restaurants that we went to in old town Cartagena!
Great food, friendly and attentive staff, and fun decor. Truly delicious fish soup, which accompanies every dinner. And be sure to have a "limonada de coco," one of our favorite drinks and a good way to cool off.
A local merchant recommended this restaurant. We went for dinner. The food was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want authentic local food. The fish was fresh and their coconut milk rice was the best I had in Cartagena.
The food here was delicious. We were in Cartagena for two days both days we ate here. The staff is very friendly and attentive, food service was quick and reasonable priced. It has a nice vibe with a nice garden dining area in the back....First day we had lunch and the second day we returned to eat dinner.More
I have been surprised to read some of the reviews about la Mulata and did not quite know what to expect.
Ultimately this is not a smart restaurant. It is an eatery with fantastic food. If you expect a push dining room were you can...lounge for hours, forget it. If you want to eat well prepared simple dishes, you must go.
We loved the starters - particularly the seafood ceviche and the shrimp salad with mango. The lemonade de coco was excellent.
Portions are generous and you are served a seafood broth with the compliments of the kitchen.
Very reasonably priced.
Recommend booking and asking to be seated in the front room which has some music and a better ambience than the 2 rooms in the back.More
I came by for dinner on a Monday night right after the restaurant opened and it was already almost full (a good sign)! The menu is simple and I decided to go for the grilled octopus, which was amazing and flavourful. I also had a...limonada di coco, which was one of the best I've had during my Colombia trip. Although I was quite full, when I saw the dishes ordered by the other guests, I'm sure I could've eaten more! It was very busy, but service was attentive and the food did not take long. Highly recommended dinner spot in Cartagena (and be sure to arrive early)!More
The food was incredible here - the servers extremely friendly (they even have one vegan option on the menu). I had the catch of the day - and went back the next evening for the ceviche which was also excellent.
