Two caveats to this review: 1) We went while COVID was still raging in Colombia 2) We went to a restaurant of this name and did not order Ceviche. We decided as we passed by this restaurant (as our first choice wasn't open yet) on...our way to the new mall and decided to give it a try knowing the good reviews others had made. We decided to seat outside near the street, which proved to be a mistake. We were continually solicited by vendors, musicians, as though we were sitting at the beach which had an impact on our mood. We started the night with cocktails, my wife had a margarita, and a mojito for me. Although my wife requested minimal salt, the rim was caked in salt, the drink itself was mediocre. My mojito was watery and very poorly made. We had multiple mojitos during our stay and this was a distant last. I was forced to return it, something I have done probaby once a decade. The waiter was far from pleasant about it and said we couldn't. My wife is Cartagenera so had the knowledge of the situation to make him understand. THe replacement beer was cold and fine. We ordered coconut rice and grilled seafood mixture for two. The rice was very well made and tasted great. My wife said the grill seafood was OK. I found it covered in soy sauce that was excessive, the squid chewy, and shrimp not appearing to be grilled and very small. The octopus was OK. So overall not a great experience and at the bottom of the list of all the restaurants we went to during our trip...More
My brother is a chef and wanted to eat at this restaurant while in Cartagena. We travelled in August 2018 and had no problem getting a table inside, however the tables outside were full. We ordered eggplant on a flatbread, diablo shrimp and shrimp/lobster paya,...all of which were delicious. I don't remember the total bill but I want to say it was 160,000 pesos approximately for the three of us. Food was excellent and a wonderful atmosphere which I would recommend. Oh and we had a weird dessert that was a slab of cheese in what looked like tomato soup. A little strange but wasn't too bad.More
I have visited this restaurant four times and I always leave happy. Since I have tried the arroz meloso de langosta, I dont think twice to order it, it is absolutely delicious. The only negative thing is that their prices went up a lot in...two years! If you are thinking of paying for a good meal, this is the place, its gonna be expensive but at least you ll be satisfied.More
Location - in the middle of old town
Service - pleasant but slow
Ambience - casual
Food - the mixed ceviche in lemon and coconut sauce was good but not the best I’ve had . The paella with shrimps and lobster was very good -...the rice was soupy and tasty ( quite different from the typical Spanish paella) , and the chunks of lobster in the dish were very good .
Value - for the two of us who ordered appetizer, paella and 1.5 drinks per person, and coffee , the bill came out to be about $80. For a casual meal in Colombia , I thought that was pricy . There are many restaurants in Cartagena with better value.More
Fantastic food and service. Overall a great experience in Cartagena. The ceviche appetizer was tasty and filling.I had the curry shrimp with tostones and was very tasty. My wife had the shrimp with avocado salad with red sauce. She enjoyed her meal and I thought...mine was fantastic. Would come again!More
