We had a fantastic meal at this restaurant. chef Yu cooked us a long Sichuan meal made of 39 small dishes. What a feast! There was a combination of flavors and textures that was a delight to the palate. Some hot , some sweet, some so beautiful garnished. We had a private room and the service was great. Just a... More

I had a pretty average experience here! Food was average, a few nice dishes, nothing extraordinary! No drinks menu, waiter could barely speak english, so eventually I was able to order a beer. They had no cold beer, only warm. The Tsingtao premium is 95RMB per bottle. The service was completely rushed, with multiple courses being placed on the table... More

Seriously, the food looks great, tastes ok, cost's a lot! For local food there are a hundred better places. Service was terrible!

We had a table for 10 for dinner, and enjoyed the dinner immensely. The food showed us that there was more to Sichuan cuisine than just the hot-pot or just spicy food. The presentation was meticulous and beautiful, and the ambience is very comfortable and private.

We had our hotel concierge make a reservation a couple of weeks before we arrived. At that point dinner was impossible but he was able to get us a lunch reservation. It's a unique experience, you have your own dining room in the family house. We thought is was quite memorable and the food is fun -- great presentation and... More

We made reservations from the States a couple of months in advance as we were traveling to Chengdu. We arrived at 5.30 PM in this renovated stately home in the restored Zhai alleyways in the heart of Chengdu. We were ushered to a private room with a comforable anti-room with tea table, chairs and sofa and a TV. tea and... More

A unique dining experience quite different from most in China. It was RMB 660 a head, we had to pay a deposit of 30% in advance into their bank account before they would confirm our booking. Located down the "narrow lanes" behind a nice large wooden door where you had to knock before being let in. We were upstairs in... More

Was invited there by some Chinese Friends. I was really excited about dinning in one of Chengdu most famous Chinese restaurant. However the food did not match the expectation...Some of the dishes were nothing special and can be found in most Sichuan restaurants in Chengdu. .. Maybe I was just expecting too much...but I feel they are lots of better... More

Beyond excellent, Yu Bo's cuisine is a distillation of classic Sichuan cooking interpreted in a modern tasting-menu format. Refined, elemental and simple, yet elegant, unctuous, and indulgent. Simply inspiring! I feel so fortunate to have experienced this and recommend it to any visitor to Chengdu who has a serious interest in cuisine. The setting is sedate and elegant, the service...
