Amazing sea food and you can choose what you want to eat there! The fishes are alive. Great experience, wonderful place!

If you love seafood this is a great place to try. We were taken out by Chinese friends who ordered. I tried some things that I have never eaten before.
The first dish was a delicacy of some kind of Spiny Sea Urchin! Apparently it is live and then decapitated and eaten raw with a mixture of soya sauce and mustard. It is delicious!! The texture is unusual but it was fabulous and actually tasted more like a slightly meaty, tangy soup.
The rest of the food was more familiar to a European palate including sublime raw salmon, beautifully cooked fish in a brown sauce, pork tenderloin with a zesty sauce and other items.
It was interesting to me that there was no rice but instead we were served with dumplings and vegetables. It was washed down with a glass of the powerful Mutai!

My mother in law brought me there, the place is very famous amongst Chinese but I was the only foreigner. There is a waiting time, we waited around 30 minutes but you can still go for a walk by the harbor, the surroundings are very nice although not so Chinese looking :-)
The interior is original, there are lots of small rooms with 4-5 tables and then lots of private boots for 4 people max.
Then you go near the kitchen to order your food, you can choose which fish or seafood you want, then head back to your table and enjoy...
They also have smth hard to find in Dalian : the dark beer, not as strong as Guinness but stronger than normal Chinese beer for sure.
Anyway, the ride there is nice, the village and harbor are one of those "fake" european architecture but this one is so so kitsch and well done.
I recommend it for anybody staying or visiting Dalian.
Oh, I forgot to mention that the price is very very attractive... we paid 300RMB for a 10 meal feast between 3 adults and two kids, including the jug of beer..
