A wide selection of dumplings that are really quite tasty, plus a good selection of fresh seafood. However, the restaurant could definitely improve on hygiene standards...when I went to pay for the bill i saw the "chef" handling the fish blow his nose and spit...on the floor. Then, without washing his hands, he proceeded to handle other fish. It's a shame that uncivilised individuals need to ruin the good reputation of a decent restaurant! The service was also not amazing but i guess very standard for Chinese restaurants at this price range.More
Good food. Reasonable prices. Nice staff.
We don't speak Chinese, so having pictures of the food saved us. We pointed to a fish, which the took and prepared not really knowing if it was going to come raw or cooked. We ordered lots of dumplings,...off the dumpling English menu and pointed to some pictures of other local dishes. All came out exactly as pictured or described. Fish even came filly cooked, seemingly Cantonese style but not sure. It was delicious! Beer was good too and very cold. We accidently sat upstairs in the smoking section, but that was our fault. All in all a great dinner.
Credit card didn't work, but that seems to be a problem at many places, so have cash.More
Daqinghau Dumplings has been around for a while and they have different locations, this one is highly recommended by locals. They serve North Eastern Chinese cuisine, Beijing/Manchurian style. Great dumplings selection, such as steamed dumpling Manchurian style, black ink squid dumpling, clam dumpling, fish dumplings...and vegetarian dumplings. There are also a variety of vegetarian dishes, cold appetizers and salads, so if this place is great for vegetarians as well. Of course, they serve more exotic meats and fares like deer meat, deer tendon and local fish . Prices are very reasonable, dumplings are around Yuan 10 to Yuan 30 per order (USD 1.1 to USD 4). Average cost per person is around Yuan 60 (USD 8). The downside is that the decor is very basic and quite humble.More
