Very expensive pizzas, way more expensive than in any other Italian restaurant I've visited in China.. The pizzas are big though and enough for two. The crust on the pizza wasn't baked and when I pointed it out I was told that it should be like that and that it is very Italian..?? The prices for beverages are also extremely... More

We had a great steak dinner here at Marco Polo. Autentic Italian Chef owner who prepares great food. We had the Pizza to start which was the real deal and then the Chef prepared rustic style Steak dinner with fresh salad / baked potato and a wonderful steak with all of the juices. In a word..............marvelous. The decor' of the... More

The pizza al funghi was a good size - more than enough for 2 people. However, it was a bit too cheesy for us. Also ordered the Broccoli vegetable dish which was good (also covered in cheese). Inside it smelled of smoke because of the owner smoking, which may or may not be a problem for people in China since... More

This italian restaurant in Dadonghai serves good (but expensive) pizzas. The owner is grumpy and doesn't do anything to make you want to come back and the atmosphere pretty tacky makes your dinner not memorable. Great potential but with a little more care...

The venue is a tiny courtyard with only one terrace with awful smell and we can hardly squeeze with family of four adults and four kids. There are two more tables, one by the entrance and one behind playground. Big space is occupied by sofas and chairs in the owner's home cinema. Italian canteen, but not authentic due to lack... I had been advised to go to Marco Polo by a bunch of Italian friends saying that despite the shortage of typical and fresh ingredients from Italy, Franco would have made the best out of what available to give you a truly Italian food experience, to give a break to the Asian food.It ends to be a very cosy and... maybe this place is by far too italian for many anglo-saxons who have their nose in the air but who know nothing of simple authentic italian cuisine. this place is closer to a roman ”osteria“ than to those italian, elegant, cold, bit "fake" restaurants you can generally find here in china. usually italian restaurants in china are either cheap bad... Encouraged by the tripadvisor reviews five of us turned up to a locked gate entrance at 7pm - it looked like the restaurant was closed and the waitress said she had to ask the boss for permission to let us enter. The restaurant was virtually empty, no tables set and we were seated in the courtyard , mosquito heaven .... More

Nice restaurant layout with friendly English speaking staff. Good ambiance and a place to come solo or with friends. I ordered tomatoe soup to start which was fine, and lasagne to follow. I expected much better quality food from the Italian owners cooking skills. The lasagne was horrible - there is no way that he could attempt to serve such... More

I found about this restaurant searching through the internet for restaurants in Sanya. We wanted western food. We came at 2 but they told us they open around 6pm. Do not know if they open for lunch. Tables are outside with music. The food was good. However they only accept cash no credit cards.
