Why is everyone obsessed with these noodles? I get it, they’re like a dollar, and they taste fine. But I have no desire to go back. This town has lots more interesting noodle options.

It was one of the cheapest and yet delicious dishes I had while I was in Lanzhou! A blend of various flavors and juicy and soft noodles.

Lanzhou is known for beef noodles, and everyone told me this was the place to get them. It did not disappoint. This is not a fancy restaurant, at least not downstairs - it is more of a self-service open air place. But the beef noodles...are outstanding, served spicy or mild, with vegetable side dishes. This is a must if you are in Lanzhou.More

If you want fancy style, you can go upstairs which in my opinion, lost 50% of the local taste. Just order the cheaper one down stairs follow the line like a local, enjoy the noise made from other people eating noodles.

Yes, the restaurant is not a Michelin stared fine dining environment. It is authentic, cheap, humble and full of locals. The noodles are good, extremely cheap (7 yuan or 1 USD for a bowl). There are several add-ons available such as eggs, cucumbers, radish, etc....Bring some good friends and it will be awesome.More

I love beef noodles, and I feel lucky to spend in several months in Lanzhou and have tasted dozens of noodle shops. This one is recommended by local friends as 'the old brand'. The tastes and flavors are good, classic. There're some lesser known shops...that provide better noodles, honestly. But if you don't have much time, or you wish to taste different shops, you can start with this one. The first floor is more crowded than a flea market. The second floor is better, though the price is slightly higher. It's interesting that staff here doesn't have much sense of service. They're not rude or impatient, they just think it natural that you to order, eat and go. What else do you expect :)More

I expected an extraordinary meal, given other reviews. I felt the soup was good, that I'd experienced a true Lanzhou beef noodle soup in a popular restaurant. The price was incredibly reasonable--7 yuan for a large bowl--and perhaps that's why people like it so much....I wish I'd taken the advice of our taxi driver, who had promised to take us to a place where we would love the dish. Be sure you have wipes for the table top--the wait staff doesn't make much effort in cleaning.More

Lanzhou is famous for the beef noodles, so what could be better if you have the right place to enjoy it? Here you can find the noodles with a good variety, but be careful if you can´t have spicy food, for the locals relly enjoy...it!More
