We all know why one goes here - it is to eat all the bugs you wouldn't find at regular restaurants. It is not the place for the squeamish. Now, let's get to the food... The bug sampler for two is a great way to experiment and try different bugs. It comes with a tarantula "donut", a roll filled with... More

Try it!! The food is actually yum and you get to try bugs. They have all sorts. We had crickets, fire ants, flying ants, silk worms, water beetle and Tarantulas. I wasn't a huge fan of the silk worms because they pop in your mouth lol they taste fine but the popping was... An experience. Fire ants were actually really... More

I'm afraid I wasn't brave enough to try the deep fried tarantula or the scorpions, but I did have the red ant spring rolls and the crocodile kebab. For fun, it certainly is interesting and worth a visit, but I would say that the food we had was anything beyond just good and tasty. Unlike many, this restaurant is air-conditioned... More

Great introduction to bug munching and a definite 'must-do' while in Siem Reap. Everything is cooked and presented beautifully. Granted, my mouth wasn't salivating when presented with our meal, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!

Ok. It sounds icky, but the French owner is there to make sure that you feel comfortable and to let you know what to expect. He was amazing actually. He explained everything about what was on our plate. My husband wanted to try a scorpion but didn't want to order 3, and this was no problem. Try the taster platter... More

Before traveling to Cambodia, my kids and I learned about the sustainability of eating insects vs the environmental toll of eating beef and other mammals. The kids were totally sold on the concept and ready to dive in. Having the food actually taste good was just the icing on the cake! Definitely a good family adventure.

Its a real restaurant NOT a streetvendor with deepfried insects. French owner, cambodian chef. The owner introduce the restaurant and the dishes, so its easier to choose. We ordered a discovery platter, a marinated scorpion and a crocodile kebab. We ate everything, the kebab was excellent, but the scorpion was not so good. The discovery platter was interesting but fine.... More

The concept behind this restaurant is a good one and the quality of the cooking is good but it is still difficult to stomach some of the creepy crawlies. The ant spring rolls are surprisingly amazing and I would highly recommend. The staff/owner are incredibly helpful and informative about the whole experience.

Why should you spend a little bit more Riel for bugs you ask? Because it's worth it! When you arrive at Bugs cafe, you are immediately seated and receive a thorough explanation on how the bugs are cooked, what flavors to expect, and a recommendation on what to order. My girlfriend and I ordered the bug sampler for carry out.... More
