You would think that with the tourism bottoming out from COVID-19 that the Temple Bar would work harder to set themselves apart from the rest of Pub Street (where many iconic sites have closed) and they do! They’re the only ones who didn’t try and...welcome us into their business (that should’ve been a sign). Well done Temple at retaining so many of your wait staff. As a former waiter/bartender/kitchen scrub, I respect that. Too bad none of them appeared to be working that night. We ordered four entrees. Two came in 20 minutes. The other two came about 40 minutes later. I could see the confusion at the wood fired oven as the chef (no head net) dropped two sets of pizza dough on the ground (thankfully she did not try and reuse them). Our waitress took one drink order (the second one, a pitcher of water and four glasses, was definitely against her will). That was it for drinks. I saw the Manager briefly, sharp suit, Slick! I wish you did your job half as well as you dress. The wait staff hid in the corner and giggled and played on their phones while the few customers in the joint waited impatiently for their food. After an hour of this we decided to get the pizzas to go. Despite having an hour to cook them, the dough was raw. A huge disappointment from start to finish. I can only hope the next owners of a restaurant on this site make better use of this iconic corner. Final tip, Temple Restaurant (maybe you can use it in your next restaurant venture after this place closes) salami is not pepperoni.More
