The ambiance is very good, and the owner - very warm. The food, is not that exceptional, and average.

Extremely wide selection, surprisingly fast. The garlic dahl is amazing. Solid chicken tikka. Off the main strip

Having just recently moved from America, and being a Vegan, I was apprehensive to find a new Indian Restaurant in Benin. I was thrilled to experience the laid back subtle environment of this place. Also the owner is actually From India, and his food is better than all the indian Restaurants I went to in the USA. He has a... More

Authentic Indian restaurant, authentic taste (good as per Benin standard), a long Indian menu but super bad attitude towards hospitality. Don't know much about how to deal with the client. Nothing very great abt ambience... It might cost you 7k to 10 k per head for a vegiterian meal.

I would rate Shamiana as the best indian cuisine restaurant in Cotonou. I was really missing my indian palette and searched tripadvisor and zeroed in on Shamiana. I recommend to keep Shamiana as a must try option for indian cuisine in cotonou. The staff were very friendly and understand our need and provide recommendations. I had ordered Prawn Masala, White... I love everything about this restaurant. The atmosphere is lovely and the food is to die for. I usually get the butter chicken and garlic naan, but have also enjoyed chicken korma and lentil dishes. I am a little bothered that rice costs extra, but that's ok because the portions are large. The owner is very nice and always comes... More

Like many of them, I have also enjoyed delicious food in Shamiana. But what mattered the most is the attentiveness of the owner. He suggested me what all I can have & adjusted the spice level according to my taste. I had come to Benin for the first time just 4 days back for setting up a new business &... More

We love Shamiana, which is why we chose Shamiana for our Christmas Dinner. The owner is wonderful- very friendly, helpful, and generous. More importantly, their food is very well done, flavorful, and just awesome. Our favorite is the Butter Chicken. Since their hours aren't posted, I'll contribute here that they are open 11:30 - 3:00 and 6:30-11:30 every day of... More
