About
The Chawan dream began with an idea that people would enjoy high-quality tea in carefully hand crafted tea cups, individually selected all the way from Japan, where tea is valued as an essential part in leading a life of tranquility and balance. A concept based around chadō, the way of tea as a way of life. We aim to educate our customers about tea culture, the benefits of consuming loose teas and guide them to an overall better way of life.

Stopped by Chawan for some tea and breakfast and was completely amazed at how good the food was. I had the Chai Karak and it was some of the best I've had in the gulf. I think I've just had the best breakfast in my life and can't wait to come back and try again. Thank you Chawan!

We had flower tea and some small plates. Service was very good. We sat outside and it was lovely. However, the inside seating is magnificently decorated.

I have spent half of my adult life living in Japan and I would like to be the first to say that this place was cut right out of the rural streets of Kyushu Island! No matter if you are looking for a nice quiet place to sit and read a book while drinking tea or for a place to take your loved one on a nice date, this is the place. Not did I get the feeling I was in Japan, but the owner had a very extensive knowledge of tea in general. I came in with a splitting headache, she recommended I try one of her teas, when I left it was almost gone. So if you have a question about tea and just want to learn about the japanese culture then Chawan is the place to go! Also you can try on a kimono, write caligraphy, and they now have Kareoke on Sundays! This is by far my number one spot to relax and enjoy "me" time!

The pretty Japanese décor combined with the traditional Japanese music made for an extremely relaxing atmosphere. The waitress was wearing a pretty flowery kimono and the service was excellent and very attentive. Only planned on having tea but ended up having sushi for an appetizer and dessert with our tea too. The matcha mochi ice cream was yummy and our teas were delicious. We will visit again to try other yummy looking things on the menu. Highly recommend!

a one of a kind tea shop here in Bahrain. A unique japanese themed tea shop with a very relaxing atmosphere, where you'll definitely enjoy your tea with a group of friends or even alone! I personally like to go there with a book or a project that I'm working on. The food is absolutely delicious, especially the "Onigiri", "mochi greentea icecream" and brown rice kani sushi! And the best part is that you don't have to worry, because the ingredients used are healthy! So that's awesome. Other than eating and drinking you can also try on the "yukata" (a kimono but for summer), Karaoke and japanese calligraphy! It's definitely worth checking out!

Chawan is a special place in Bahrain, which surprised me because I felt as though I was actually in Japan. Chawan offered all the beauty of Japan and was so much fun. The food and tea was also sooo delicious and healthy which was an added bonus. Chawan is a must stop if your in the Anwaj area. :))
