The Good and the Bad

Food was pretty good. They take great pride in home made bread, but it was covered in margarine. Ugg. Makes me wonder where else they are cutting costs, if flavor is not a high priority. ( I will not eat margarine.) Ordered chicken tenders, which was a large portion, and altho I thought it might be overdone (dark brown) it was very tasty. Menu said it came with coleslaw, but I got the entire salad bar. Nice.( Altho the lettuce was not the freshest I have had, and the other options were limited.) But what does one expect from a small town restaurant mid week. The fries were really good and crispy.

Nice Up North find

We stopped here on our way home from vacation, and we're glad we did. Although it was later in the afternoon and was ready to close, they still seated and served us with a smile. This place is no-frills...a family restaurant style with a decent menu. I ordered the chicken parmigiana sandwich....it was large, and good. Overall, we all liked each of our orders; our bonus of bread and pastries we brought back from the bakery side was pretty darn good, too! Definitely a good find, and worth stopping by for a meal!

Had hoped for better...

We're on a bus trip today...our driver was familiar with this restaurant and said they had good food. The food was passable, but some of our French fries were raw and others were overcooked. Our waitress needs to hon her skills. We waited 5 minutes after our meal for her to come back with pie options, even though she walked by us at least 3 times to wait on obvious regular customers. Not how a waitress should function if they're looking for a good tip.

Sunday menu limitations

Menu limitations on Sunday due to 2:00 pm closure. With diet restrictions, the only thing available I could order was a bowl of oatmeal, which was good, but not what I had in mind for lunch. A grilled chicken sandwich or simple chicken noodle soup - anything not fried or heavily seasoned - was what I'd hoped for.

Delicious!

The omelets were amazing! The hash-browns were very crisp and delicious! The best was the homemade breads! You have to try the raisin bread! It was so good I grabbed two loaves on my way out! Waitress on our first visit was very attentive and friendly, but on our second trip the waitress was different and just ok, but the food makes up for it!

H & H Bakery go there you will not be disappointed . Great Bakery and restaurant. I like the H&H special pizza. They have Paczki too!

Great pastries

I always bring out of town guests to H&H Bakery in Au Gres, MI. They serve the best breakfast in town and their perch as a side dish is sooooo good.

Super Baked Goods

We love their date cookies as well as their coconut cookies. Just bought four boxes for gifts for our neighbors for Christmas. Have found other seasonal favorites too. They are a favorite of many of our family too. Their baked goods counter always has fresh and delicious items. Have purchased some good bread and cinnamon rolls also. Check it out. Has become a favorite stop for us.

Don’t eat here unless you have a lot of time! No silverware, waited 30 minutes for food! Waited again to pay, food was decent but they need better servers!!

Good Home Cooked Meals

Good burger and club sandwich. Fries were hot and delicious! Nothing fancy but service was friendly and food cooked to order. Good place to stop on way up north that’s far better than a fast food place!

A great place to eat

The service is fine, and the meals are delicious. I had the hamburger and there are plenty of varieties to choose from. There is a bakery which prepares delicious breads and desserts.

Don't waste your time

Service was really slow. Waited 25 minutes for water refills. Ordered two pizzas received one and had to wait 25 minutes for the second! Did not apologize or even comp ANYTHING for the wait. We will never return.

Pastry’s Wonderful Food Is Iffy!

If you’re going to buy there breads or pastries The are wonderful! But there food is so so! I had them make me grilled chicken breasts with broccoli and baked potato, broccoli was still frozen and hard and baked potatoe wasn’t cooked chicken was under cooked 🤪
