Excellent Chinese dumplings - jiaozi and goutier. Good menu. Simple, cheap and cheerful kind of place with no fancy decor. Also thought the Chinese broccoli (gai lan) was particularly good. B usy and not enough help but the food is worth the wait.

My son & family love the Chinese dumplings (I could take or leave them). We tried a couple of different kinds- I thought the lamb & cilantro were good. We got steamed and I think I would've liked the fried ones better. But they need more help, the plates came out helter skelter, the water was warm, no ice. I probably wouldn't go back.

There are many restaurants on Washtenaw between Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti including several small places well worth a visit. This one is a dumpling house. Nothing fancy but a nice variety of dumplings and an excellent green beans with garlic dish. The restaurant is small but the menu is large with noodle dishes, typical Chinese food, Ma La bowls, snacks and 11 different types of dumplings. Lots of choices for vegetarians. Each dumpling dish has been fresh and tasty. They are more like soup dumplings than steam buns ( but they do have a few of those as well) and they are delicious. If you want Chinese food but are looking for something a bit different this is your place.

Went here for fast lunch last Veterans day. Ordered the famous dumplings - chicken and pork, marinated duck, and pork belly. On top of the slow serving as compared to those who came after to order take out, got their full order before us and got out; the food was plain bland. The dumplings are worst compare to those you can buy from any Asian grocery stores. Now the service - as a rule my rule of thumb especially this pandemic, I usually give tip more than 10% just to help out. But with what we experienced here it’s not even worth it. Nevertheless, I left a $5 tip. As i walk out the door the waitress was yelling at me to come back and demanded I did not gave her tip and it must be 20% tip! I told her I left you $5 tip. She yelled at me - no! It must be 20%! I said No! Tips are voluntary! Not Mandatory! You don’t force your customer to give more than they want to give! ... the rest is just a jibberish bs from her. This place is a mediocre Chinese restaurant and with very rude service. Not sure why this place gets more than 3 stars here and everywhere, makes you question these reviews and these individuals. So yeah, come at your risk. I’m not getting back and so should you.

Their steamed Cabbage and Mushroom dumplings are incredible! Dip them in the sesame sauce that comes with them, and let your mind be blown. I've eaten a lot of vegan dumplings. These dumplings consistently blow all other out of the water -- they are even better than Vanessa's in Manhattan. Whoever came up with the recipe for this filling is a genius. And they are always perfectly steamed: not too soft, not too chewy. My partner and I get them regularly, and we are always blown away at how good they are.

Dumplings any way you want them. The items I ordered were all good. You could taste the freshness and the care that went into every dumpling. They offered Chinese home cooking. Very tasty. If you don't want spicy let your waitress know. It can be spicy. Good stuff. Real noodles and scallion pa cakes. Yummy.

Although I have enjoyed Chinese cuisine in restaurants all across the United States – but never in China, unfortunately – I hardly consider myself an expert judge. Nevertheless, I was amazed and surprised by the authentic, hand-made dumplings at Yee Siang. Light, tender, moist, and delightfully delicious. I particularly enjoyed their lamb and pork versions. Next time, I may opt for at least one of everything they offer!

We were disappointed because there is only one type of vegetarian dumpling on the menu (the mushroom & cabbage variety). All others have meat/fish of various kinds. The dumplings were average - rather low on seasoning and flavor. We did not sit down to eat but took the food back home. I might return to the restaurant in the future to try other items on the menu. The Hot Chili Noodle (vegetarian) sounds interesting.

Me and my husband went to this restaurant because of the dumplings, but they were somewhat not that special. However, the other items that we ordered were even better! Love their rice noodles with beef and bean sprouts!!!! the best dish in the restaurant in our opinion. I also returned to the restaurant with my international girlfriends and we ordered a bunch of different dishes, they loved all dishes. Dumplings were again just nothing special, but we loved the pork buns! Paying with cash is the better option, that way they don't charge you a fee for credit card. Nice place to eat well and with reasonable price!

The food here was very good and reasonably priced. The beef and dill dumplings were excellent, a combination much better than anticipated. The pork buns were decent. The veggi dumplings great. The fried rice not bad, although needs to add soy sauce This is a small place which was very crowded. Will be back to try other dishes.

We stopped in for a quick dinner and were very happy we did. It is a small restaurant, but the menu is large, and everything we saw come out of the kitchen looked delicious. We ordered lamb and zucchini steamed dumplings for the table to share. They were delicious! My daughter and I split the beef udon noodles, which had broccoli, lettuce.mushroom, and carrot. They were well cooked, and we loved it. My husband got a pork hot pot, which was nicely seasoned and had peanuts on top.

We picked the wrong day to try this place. Chinese New Years Eve? Oh, well. They were primed for a large crowd. We arrived around 7:00 pm on a Friday night. There was approximately a 20 minute wait to be seated. It was a little unorganized, but fine. We ordered a bunch of things in order to get a taste of this place. 3 types of dumplings, spicy Beef noodle soup, and Pork Bun. You can order your dumplings steamed, boiled or pan fried. We were told that there was an hour wait for pan fried, so we ordered all of them boiled. They were good, but not my preferred method. I would love to order them again pan fried. I would rate a 3 out of 5 stars as boiled. My favorite dumplings were the Chicken Triple Delight. The Spicy Beef Noodle Soup was amazing. Hearty chunks of beef, thick noodles, bokchoi, in a beef broth. It was delicious and filling. 5 stars out of 5. The pork bun was not that good. I wouldn't order again. The other reviewers were spot on about the service. Our server was super friendly, but awfully slow overall. I suspect that there is a huge backup in the kitchen making all of these dishes fresh and made to order. Our dumplings came out 20 minutes apart and the pork bun arrived after an hour of ordering. Overall, I will go back again. I must try the pan fried dumplings and would continue to order the Spicy Beef Soup.

Well the tea was lukewarm, the soup was tasteless and lukewarm, the service was sketchy, slow, and in random order. However, the dumplings were great. We had the dumplings as takeout before, and we may do it again, but we will never go here again for a sit-down meal. Be advised.
