It was our first time at Ashley’s and we specifically went for lobster fest. We read some of the negative reviews from this year but were still excited to go. We were seated right away and server was over after about 15 minutes . After...receiving our drinks and placing our order that was the last time our server stopped at our table for almost an hour. I had to get up and was walking around to find utensils and crackers . Drinks were never refilled and after over an hour another server seen us and asked us if we needed anything. We told her we just wanted the check. She asked if we wanted anymore lobsters and we told her we had 1 in over an hour and can’t get our waiter to come over. She apologized and said she would talk to manager and take over our table. She talked to manager and she said no. Waiter came over and said sorry that was bad and today is my first day back if that makes you feel any better. Not sure what that meant. Never heard from manager. We paid our bill and went to hopcat since we only ate 1 lobster and were still hungry . Glad we paid an 18% gratuity, which I would gladly pay for good meal and service. Never going back ...More

Staff pompous, arrogant, rude, condescending and extremely unfriendly. Arrived in Ann Arbor to visit Michigan with my son, wife and two teenage children. Read positive reviews online about Ashley’s and decided to go. Greeted rudely by waiter and host barely three steps in the door....Waiter practically screamed at me asking me if I had a mask. I inquired if a table of five was available. Host was arrogant and condescending, “Ahh, we are full of reservations tonight so that’s a NO!”. I checked Open Table and located available reservations that night for outdoor seating. However, after the unfriendly greeting I received I was definitely not going to Ashley’s nor will I likely ever. We walked out & went to a nearby restaurant called Knights. Treated with respect and everyone was pleasant. I cannot speak of the food or atmosphere. However, based on the customer service, I would AVOID THIS PLACE COMPLETELY.More

Ashley's is a no-frills, Irish-pub feel type of bar. You don't go here for the extensive or unique cuisine...although what it does do, it does very well! Our food here was very good; an appetizers of spicy waffle fries with stinton cheese was very good..a...little unique, and very tasty! I ended up with a burger, which was also good...the patties were freshly made, and were huge, with a grilled bun. It was definitely a large sandwich, and tasty. Oh, and by the way...the beer selection here is fantastic, with a lot of Michigan (and some non-Michigan) beers available on tap. The whiskey and drink selection also looked to be very good. This was during their "opening" weekend after restrictions were eased; with that in mind, the staff here was still great, and our server excellent...extremely friendly, a great sense of humor, and very efficient.More

There's nothing that goes better with a hearty burger than a wide selection of cold beer, Matt. The fresh sizzle of burger patties and a frosted glass in hand is one sure way to successfully enter an opening weekend. I'm happy to know servers delivered...More

Was in town from Scotland last week for the big game, and Ashley's one of the places we had earmarked to visit, and we weren't disappointed at all! Not sure I have ever seen a better and bigger selection of beers, and I was able...to tick off several local Ann Arbor and Michigan brews that I'll likely never, ever get the chance to have again! Great vibe the night before the big game and awesome service. If I'm ever lucky to make it back to Ann Arbor again, I'll be sure to come back here!More

Stopped by for lunch after touring the U of M campus across the street. It wasn't the height of lunch hour so the place wasn't crowded but it took quite a while to be served, or even noticed. The server took our order and again...the wait was pretty long. We ordered sandwiches and burgers , none of which justified the wait. Water refills took forever. On top of that, I ordered a side of onion rings that didn't show up with the meal. The waitress told me twice she would go back and get them but then just wandered off to chat with other staff. By the time the onion rings came out, we were almost finished, and they were under-cooked and greasy. The one thing that drives me nuts at restaurants is paying to be ignored and forgotten. Total waste of time in an area full of nice places to eat.More

We took a chance because of a few of the negative reviews we had seen, but also liked that the owner always answered them. We were easily the oldest people in the place by a good 30-40 years, but we like the overall “feel” of...the place. We were attended to immediately and our waiter (did not get his name) was great. The meal was very good, but I have to say the clam chowder was really exemplary. We will returnMore

Came to this bar as a bartender down the street literally said "the bar is is good but the people there are very pretentious. He nailed it. Bartender had an I dont care attitude. Sat at a table and a lady cam up and said..."you cant sit here if you ordered from the bar" "o ly people seated by the host can sit here" This is not a restaurant. Its hipster bar where the service look like crap people and act like they are better than everyone making up for the fact that they are not. I'd never come here again. One beer and left.More

This bar was recommended by local friends but was an incredible disappointment. The servers were rude. We were there for nearly an hour and nobody waited on us. We went to the bar to order, and were then told that it was last call and...we could not order anything. Seriously?! Clearly they did not want our business and were annoyed we were there. Wow.More

I stopped in at Ashley’s for dinner during a flying business visit to Ann Arbor. I wanted something relaxed and casual to wind down and Ashley’s was the perfect choice. A great selection of beers that were refreshing and cold. Do yourself a favour and...try the pretzels and buffalo wings. It’s an awesome place to sit outside and watch the world go bye.More
