This is an amazing store, bakery and sandwich shop. Our family came here for lunch and enjoyed delicious sandwiches along with potato salad and pickles. Nothing is inexpensive and the lines can be very long but it’s all very tasty. We will be back again.

We've been meaning to stop in here for years and I follow Zingerman's on Facebook, so it was with some anticipation that my young sons and I stopped in last weekend on our trip from Chicago to Detroit. All three meals were tepid and overcooked, including chicken, pulled pork, and a chicken fried steak sandwich which was inedible. But here is the thing ... we arrived mid-afternoon around 3:30 before they geared up for the dinner hour, and it seems that what we were given was food left over from lunch, reheated and indifferently served. Zingerman's generally gets great reviews and we may give them another try in the future and hope for improvement. Such is life ...

The portions they serve here are rather large but what ever you decide to eat we found their house made Russian Dressing to something to fight over. It was so good. I know right? Who goes crazy over Russian Dressing but I have to say we did it was very good.

After waiting a half hour to get in for lunch, I ordered the $20 mushroom and swiss burger medium rare. When it came, the hamburger was completely raw in the center, red grease from the meat had totally saturated the bottom bun, and (amazingly) the swiss cheese was completely cold/unmelted and just laying on top of the under-cooked burger. When I advised the manager, his comment was "Wow, guess I'm going to have to keep an eye on them..." and walked away. Never again....

Zingermans did an amazing job! From start to finish, the staff and event managers were attentive, friendly, and very helpful. My husband and I celebrated our wedding dinner with 25 other guests. The waitstaff & bartender were always smiling and just awesome. Since apparently I’m the only one in my group of people that love grits, one of the servers must have overheard me bragging about their grits, and brought me my own bowl. ❤️ This event space was perfect for our intimate reception. Temperature was great even though it was 55 degrees outside. The food… was unbelievable! They even handled providing a personalized Star Wars wedding cake. Thank you so much to all involved. For the ambience, food, dessert and staff, it was very well priced and we highly recommend setting up your next event with Zingermans. You’ve truly helped make our special day perfect and memorable.

5 out of 5+ We were heading home back from Canada trip and was told to check out this place on the way home to Chicago. Oh boy was this place worth it! They have plenty of private parking and we were able to sit down fairly quickly for a Sunday dinner. When you enter the place you see that there was plenty to tables to sit from private rooms, sun room, the bar, in front of the wait staff area getting people’s orders to eating at the bar. Hubby ordered an old fashion drink and man they made it spot on and it was hella strong lol! There was plenty of interesting wall art and poster boards. They also sell Merch - this place is part to a little conglomeration of other family zingermans businesses from a deli, to bakery, to creamery, etc. in this area. We were greeted by our server we called her Ms Tracy, we told her we were new here and she gave us a history of the place and some popular dishes here and why they are so special and how it was made, amazing. We asked for bread and butter for the table. We got slices of their homemade sourdough and rye breads with their homemade butter wow. We ordered their ribeye that came with three sides. We got sautéed spinach, Mac and cheese (we paid extra) and Carolina gold rice. Our family also order ribeye and rice Mac n cheese and roasted squash. The entire dish was excellent so good and flavorful the steak was made median rare so soft and juicy! I would order the steak again, grass fed finished! While we were waiting for our dinner, Ms Tracy our waitress offered us tapas size samples on the house of their famous pulled pork with a little kick flavorful soft and juicy. New Orleans pot roast with grits and cheese, bed was so soft and grits tasted like corn with melted cheese, also russet skinned mashed potatoes with beef gravy…wow wow all was so good! I was also able to order a piece of their buttermilk fried chicken too, if you like black peppery chicken skin it had a bit of a kick and skin was really crunchy. I got the breast but next time I’ll stick with the dark meat thigh or drumstick. What we couldn’t finish, she put them in containers and love that she put in the date and what is in it! We ended with dessert of fried cherry pie with vanilla gelato and whip cream. It took a few minutes to deep fry the pie, served hot and crispy crust! All our dishes were made from scratch and locally grown meats and vegetables. Overall, What a wonderful experience, i love the food and service! I will definitely come back here again if I’m in the area!

I ordered two pieces of fried chicken for $11 which included a thigh and wing. Both were small. The wing had two small bites worth of chicken and the thigh had a few more. Not what I call $11 worth of chicken. One of my sides was cold, the other was fine. My mother’s fries were delivered to her cold. The other two at our table seemed satisfied with their entrees. Service was very good. Chocolate eclair was tiny for the money. Two bites worth maybe. The other desserts were a decent size. I am giving only three stars since not everything is good on the overpriced menu.

Disappointed Our experience was not the best for a first time visit . Waitress never asked if we wanted anything to drink But brought water from hostess that was warm and ice melted before we could ask for a straw The waitress dropped off an array of menus without really explaining but she was busy and gave a quick introduction to their organic base We asked for a cup of coffee three times before we were served They offered a sample of the max and cheese before I purchased I know they were known for it and it was average and I didn’t order for my entree She convinced me the pork BBQ was signature also and the platter (28.00$ ) Was the better deal ??? It was not a lot of meat for 28 and a small side salad and a few fries She sat a dirty plate at our table while she took our order and didn’t take it away until our food arrived The food tasted good But won’t return and also the coffee once we got it was exceptional

We ate here tonight as we are visiting town for two nights to check out the university. Absolutely everyone we know told us to “go to Zingermans”. The wait for a sandwich at the deli was nearly 4 hours, pass on that. And we had dinner at the Roadhouse tonight. The Mac and cheese was good, not great. And the kale salad was really very good. We then waited a very long time for our entrees, we sat and sat and asked our server twice and eventually the order came out. We had chili, a bbq platter and fried chicken. Everything was ok. Not incredible. The food was fine but not amazing. The service was really sort of lacking. For $120 before tip for a simple dinner I expect more. It was nice to visit this legendary restaurant but after being unable to buy a sandwich at the main spot plus this pricey so-so dinner I don’t think I’ve been converted to LOVE Zingermans the way everyone seems to do.

We hadn’t gone out as a family in a number of months. We wanted some casual but good, and semi outdoors. Made a reservation ahead of time. We were going to be a little bit late and I called to let them know. We waited maybe 10 minutes after arrival and were seated. Tables were spaced and workers with face masks. Customers required to wear when not at the table. The menu looked good. My wife got the pit pork sandwich and I got the pit pork entree. I went with Mac and cheese instead of mash, and the greens. Our 2 yr old had a kids cheese burger and fries. As we waited the server brought him some orange slices which was nice. The pork was good. Bit was whole hog pork not pulled pork. A vinegar sauce is already with meat and then we can 2 different Carolina style sauces, a pepper sauce for the greens, and more of the vinegar sauce the pork was provided with. Again the pork was good not great. Maybe a little on the dry side but not dry. The Mac and cheese was good and I liked the greens. Overall it was good meal, casual place. At that time on Saturday they had breakfast options too. The patio area is covered but walls are opened up. There are a lot of fans circulating air which is good for comfort but honestly I wondered about air being circulated that much counter acting the table spacing. But overall we felt fine being there.

Needs some updating. Fuzzies on signs above hanging from the ceiling seriously need to be cleaned. The vents especially over the hosts stand are disgusting and need to be cleaned.Tables need to be refinished. Really didn't want to look any closer to see what else needed to be cleaned. Our starters came out after our entrees only because we had to ask them to bring the starters they forgot. The food is heavily grease laden . There was only 1 server for our entire room. When another person brought out our food, we explained they had forgotten our starters. This is a place lost in time but you should eat here once to see what it is because it has been around for a long time. Prices are expensive for what you get for mediocre food.

I had a creole pot licker. Basically a Cajun spiced seafood stew! 2 scallops 4 mussels, and. A large fish fillet on a grits with gravy. It was delicious! My wife had a half rack of ribs with a tomato barbecue sauce, the ribs were tender, meaty, with just the right seasoning. The ribs were enough for two meals! Zingerman’s never disappoints

In an otherwise nondescript shopping mall, you'll find Zingerman's Roadhouse. If nothing else, you'll recognize it by the metal trailer out front, which seems to be a pickup spot for morning coffee and suchlike. This place has an old-school appearance and a 60s soundtrack (Dean Martin and 1960s rock). We went for breakfast on a weekday. My friend enjoyed his coffee and his breakfast burrito (it was a special that day). I opted for the delicious Georgia Grits 'N' Bits Waffle, which had a surprisingly large amount of bacon bits, some cheese, and a little texture from the grits in the waffle batter. It was served with a small pitcher of maple syrup, a perfect accompaniment. This place is open for all three meals as well as weekend brunch. If you're planning to go, may I suggest going on a weekday and perhaps at an off-peak hour? We were there early on a weekday, but by the time we left the crowd had increased significantly. What it must be like on a weekend around noon doesn't bear thinking about.

This is a gem. Alex was our server and he was fantastic. It was our first time there and he gave us the lay of the land. He was attentive, efficient, and kind. The door was amazing. I selected the fried chicken salad and my husband selected the fried chicken mac and cheese. The salad was fresh and good, with the chicken exceptional. The star of the meal was the mac and cheese though. It is truly the best mac and cheese we have ever tasted. I wish we lived closer by so we could come back more often. I also love their COVID strategies of outdoor dining, etc. great place.

Zingerman's has a wonderful reputation in the Ann Arbor area. Their establishments have high-quality food that is wonderfully prepared. Unfortunately the service over my past visits leaves more to be desired each time. This time, I arrived between the lunch and dinner rush. My hope was to get better service than my last visit. It didn't happen. I sat at the bar where the bartenders were talking about celebrating one of their birthdays. At no time, anyone there acknowledge or greet me. I guess the bartender assigned to my seat was addressing non-customer issues. After about, ten to fifteen minutes, 'my bartender' arrived. He took my order and provided adequate service. The best service of visit came from the bus person squeezing oranges and making orange juice. I appreciated his help so much that I tipped him very generously. I just don't think the business owner would appreciate his such a dining experience as mine.
