Zingerman's filled a needed niche for deli food in Ann Arbor. Sandwiches are fantastic. The #13 is a classic corned beef. #18 Turkey Reuben equally good! Sides are generally so-so and for some reason always have been. Mac and cheese is pretty good though. They have a fabulous selection of oils, vinegar, cheese. Prices are high. Very high in some... The place has a lot of sitting so big groups are easy to fit (they have to split tables). There's both indoor and outdoor seating. We had the Reuben, a BBQ salad, a chicken sandwich and they were all good. My friends did not care as much for their BBQ salad. It is a little pricy for a sandwich shop... More

Last time I was in California, several people asked me whether I lived near Zingerman's. That is about the only thing they know about Michigan. They mail order from them. They were very impressed that I live an hour away; this is close by LA standards. I have driven that one hour for a hot pastry sandwich many times. They have... More

Once you get past the price for a sandwich ($15+), you will find fresh bread, great meats, and top notch product. Sometimes when I feel like getting a Reuben, there's only one place to go - Zingermans. Would be five stars if not for prices.

The food here was good, but I thought it was over-priced for what you got. I think this place gets by on its reputation. I've had pastrami that was just as good or better in lots of places. My wife really liked the soup she got and it seemed like a better deal than the sandwich. I will say that... More

The tuna sandwich here is hard to beat. Unfortunately, the special of the month (Chicken Tacos) was a complete miscue -- bland and boring. An ordering error on my part. Stick with the sandwiches, bread and butter, and the food here can hold its head high in any deli comparison. The service came off as a little too eclectic and... More

Love NY style deli food. This is a wonderful deli that gets it right in a smaller town in the Midwest. I've eaten out east. They have serious competition here. Great Rubens, rare roast beef on rye with Russian dressing. Yep, they've got it. and the small sandwich is hard to get your mouth around, it is so big. Wonderful... More

Iconic for Ann Arbor. A must experience if you're from out of town. Caveat emptor, Food is very good but over priced. So don't be shocked.

To be fair...I live in Ann Arbor so Zingerman's is not a "must do" touristy thing for me to try. I run in every now and then for bread- many types - ALL delicious, or to purchase a fancy condiment as a gift, or if friends or family are visiting we may go for a coffee and pastry. The sandwiches... More
