Visited during Ann Arbor Art Fair. Food and service was mediocre at best. Scallops were flavorless. Scampi was not served as described. Won't return. Also very noisy!!!!

My wife and I have always enjoyed a seafood restaurant as a special treat for a special occasion. We tried Real Seafood on her birthday because of a recent disappointing experience at the nearby Gandy Dancer. We were pleasantly rewarded. It was busy but our reservation for a booth was granted right away. Our server (Irene) was very knowledgable, personable... More
Although we frequent the Happy Hour regularly (a very good value), one of the trio of patrons was unhappy at this recent lunch with the main dish (cod Shanghai style) as the dish was simply floating in diluted soy sauce. The other patrons enjoyed the same dish grilled and the key lime pie was very good. The disappointment of the... More
The seafood is good, but the smell of the place is unbearable, even from outside: mixture of fish smell and bleach!
Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon while visiting Ann Arbor. Sat on the sidewalk patio- great place to sit! Server was a real pro, friendly, knowledgeable, funny and attentive. We had drinks (local wine & beer), fresh oysters, crab cakes and dessert. All were delicious & fresh. Just a great afternoon patio experience.
My husband and I went to take advantage of their birthday special - 1/2 off the whole food bill. When Eric, our waiter asked what we'd like to drink, I asked him about his selection of premium vodkas. All they had, as I recall, is Grey Goose, Kettle One, Absolute, Titos. I ordered a martini made with Titos' which I... More
I have been going to Real Seafood since it opened in 1976 and I have never had a bad meal there. the seafood is always fresh and prepared perfectly. The side dishes are complimentary to the main carouse, and the desserts are wonderful. I would recommend this establishment to anyone.
Real Seafood is a longtime, highly reputed Ann Arbor restaurant in the Main Street Ventures Group.. Great location on Main Street with an energetic, service-oriented management and staff. For some dear friends, it's their favorite local spot. For me, mostly I'd rather not. Hating iPads is not a good enough reason. Food is overpriced for the small portions given--particularly of... Food was okay nothing special. The service was extremely slow- 45 mins for an order of salad, calamari and gnocchi. No updates from waiter on the status of our order many other places in Ann Arbor that offer a better value.
My family and I dined recently . We arrived early enough to have a table on Main Street and be promptly served with a cool summer cocktail. Those were the positives. Our experienced server gave us every indication he did not want to be at work. No smile with a positive greeting. No interaction with our table. We chose this... More
