We started off the night seeing Handel's Messiah at Hill Auditorium then dinner at Gratzis. Perfect appetizers along with a cocktail that will blow you away. Purgatorio is not only a drink its an experience! Pollo marsala was perfection. The eggplant parmigiano was amazing as was the pene pasta. This was my 2nd time dining here and have always been... Came here after a MU football game and despite being incredibly busy, they sat us within a few minutes of our reservation. The wine list was very good and included some top end Italian wines. The dinner menu has predominately Italian dishes, but are not executed in a true Italian style. The shaved brussel spouts were good, but my seafood... More

I reviewed Gratzi's 5 years ago when the food was still great, but the service had declined. In the past year, unfortunately, the service has continued to decline and the food has declined as well. Heirloom cherry tomato salad with standard tomatoes, not heirloom. When I asked about the substitution, the waiter grudgingly agreed to ask the kitchen. He returned... More

Very upscale, good wine list. More like your typical steakhouse with an Italian flare. Good service. Staff knew when to dote and when to stay away.

I went here for lunch on Friday. The atmosphere was nice. There are booths that are private or eat upstairs where you can see the mural. I had spaghetti and meatballs. The noodles appeared homemade. My acquaintance had salmon with gnocchi noodles and said it was really good. This is place I like to have mussels at. It is not... More

If you actually enjoy Italian cuisine and can tell the difference between something that tastes like the sauce was microwaved out of a can rather than an actual culinary creation, then you will probably hate this restaurant. We shared the Di Pere salad, it had way too much dressing and bacon, and was overly salty. We were brought fresh bread... More

It was my daughter-mother day. And I treated my daughter to lunch. The waiter was very nice and he offered us truffled butter. It was my first time trying it and I was hooked. The food was very tasty and well presented.

I would not recommend this restaurant. We had a 9:15 reservation but wasn't seated until 9:45. A server did not come to our table for about 20 minutes. No bread and refilling of water glasses. The food was poor in preparation. I had a Shaved Brussel sprout salad that had no taste. I ordered the veal chop parmigiana that was... More

Gratzi is a terrific place for dinner. The building has so much history behind it. It was an old theater in the 1930s, the Orpheum Theater, and is right in the heart of Ann Arbor surround by wonderful shops. There is street parking at the restaurant, but there is a garage near by. If you had only one place to... More

Description
Gratzi, an elegant Italian restaurant with distinct style, was founded in downtown Ann Arbor, Mich. in December 1987. Formerly the Orpheum Theater, which screened the most popular movies of the day in the 1930s, Gratzi maintains the flair of the dramatic history still preserved today in the restaurant's elegant décor and ambience. Seated above Gratzi's bar is a grand sculpture of Orpheus himself, the great poet and musician, overlooking dining room guests, while a beautifully painted Renaissance-style mural depicting an ancient bacchanal reinforces the indulgent and purely pleasurable atmosphere. Indulge in the purely pleasurable atmosphere and savor unique flavors of regional Italian cuisine and wine.
