My wife and I were in Ann Arbor for the first time, for an art fair. We came upon Gratzi by chance. The dining room was classy, quiet, and relaxed. Our server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The Buratta appetizer with fig reduction sauce was outstanding, as were our Farfalle with shrimp and Branzino entrees. Not extensive, but very good... More

One of the better Italian restaurants in Ann Arbor. A bit over priced but delicious food and extensive menu. Always best, Reservations help.

I visited Gratzi during the height of frenzy of Ann Arbor Art Fair. The town was packed to capacity! We made a reservation and were seated immediately. This restaurant is awesome! Great waitstaff. Fabulous menu, and as busy as they were, we were not rushed. The food and menu is wonderful! If you live in Michigan (or not) Gratzi is... More

We came with a fairly large party of 7 for a Sat night. We had tried 4 other restaurants in town that were all booked so came here by default. They were very good in making the reservations and seating us quickly. Our waiter was a bit short and not very customer-oriented which put me off immediately. When I asked... More

Tasty, just a bit pricey for a family of 4 lunch. Don't recommend for kids...even mine have a pretty good palate, were picky for choices.

Had lunch there with two others. The swordfish on polenta was excellent, the fish was very fresh and cooked perfect. Gratzi is one of the quieter restaurants in Ann Arbor and good for business and personal discussions. Our server was eager to please and attentive, but obviously inexperienced. It didn't detract from a excellent meal experience however.

Gratzi was great! Nice atmosphere (both inside and out), friendly staff, and truly great food. I had the beet and arugula salad which is tossed in a lemon vinaigrette and served with an amazing yogurt horseradish sauce with capers. I also had the polenta and roasted mushrooms with fried egg - YUM; the perfect comfort food. My daughter had the... More

We ate here on a Sunday night and it was quite busy. The service from Ben was outstanding; he was very knowledgeable about Italian food and had been to Florence recently. The fried ravioli with goat cheese was very good as was the quail appetizer. They had a very reasonable Sangiovese wine by the glass or bottle. Three appetizers, a... More

Great burgers. Love the appetizer charcuterie plates. But the fries are amazing. Beer selection is first rate. Always busy. Go off peak if you do not want to sit elbow to elbow!

We were fortunate to be invited to tour the UofM facilities and have lunch at Gratzi. We had not been here for a while. We selected several different choices, farfalle with shrimp, penne with chicken and seafood risotto. All choices were very good with the winner being seafood risotto. Considering this being a large group, the servers did an excellent... More

Description
Gratzi, an elegant Italian restaurant with distinct style, was founded in downtown Ann Arbor, Mich. in December 1987. Formerly the Orpheum Theater, which screened the most popular movies of the day in the 1930s, Gratzi maintains the flair of the dramatic history still preserved today in the restaurant's elegant décor and ambience. Seated above Gratzi's bar is a grand sculpture of Orpheus himself, the great poet and musician, overlooking dining room guests, while a beautifully painted Renaissance-style mural depicting an ancient bacchanal reinforces the indulgent and purely pleasurable atmosphere. Indulge in the purely pleasurable atmosphere and savor unique flavors of regional Italian cuisine and wine.
