Easy parking (not every restaurant in Ann Arbor can say that). Unusual dining room. It used to be a grocery store, and that's easy to see. That makes it kind of loud and echo-y. Service was prompt, polite and knowledgeable. Cocktails were all $14+. The drink I ordered was dramatically-presented and interestingly novel (if not actually delicious). The menus (they have six!) are all accessed through your smartphone, and that's a little cumbersome. The entrees we ordered-- a pasta dish and a flight of tacos-- were good. Chocolate cheesecake was similarly good.

We cannot review the food, because we didn't get that far. The hostess told us that they do not have menus. We were welcome to watch a video to better understand how ordering food works there or she had a couple of hand held tablets we could use to browse through the offerings. I said that we would prefer a hard copy menu and she explained that they do not have that. So we went to a table and started to explore with the tablet. It is a touch screen with about eight categories and then each category is subdivided (one per screen) into various offerings. If you touch one of the categories then pictures of the offerings show up one at a time, then if you touch a picture of the food item, it gives you size, price, description and so on. There appears to be about 40 food items per category. After about five minutes, I hadn't even gotten half way through the chicken wings (first on the menu) and my wife hadn't even gotten that far. The problem is that to see the entire menu, you need to open every single item then open it again to see the detail. Within five minutes, it was obvious that if we wanted to see the entire menu, it would take at least a half hour of digging. Then, of course, if we weren't smart enough to take notes and to bookmark the ones that looked interesting (I did not see a way to bookmark anything) you'd need to repeat the entire process. What was particularly annoying about the way it was organized is that if you drilled down on an item to see all the detail, you could not return to the menu where you left off, you had to go all the way back to the beginning and start over. It looked like an all-afternoon project to place an order so we left. Yes, I can see that by not having a printed menu or wait staff they can save a lot of money on labor and on printing, but who has time to bother with such nonsense? When I come to a restaurant, I want to be served not forced to jump through hoops so the restaurant can save money and be more efficient. And, that was only the food menu. How hard would it have been to get a drink? I suppose if you had some time to kill at home and could bring up the menu on a large computer screen that would show multiple items, maybe you could go through it in less than a half hour, write down what you want and give the info to the hostess when you enter, but, in our case, we were out shopping and thought we'd stop for lunch so we didn't have the opportunity to go home and spend some time on the computer before we came. The pictures of the food looked good, I wish there would have been a way to order some in a timely manner.

We had brunch on Saturday morning and it was a fantastic experience. The staff were friendly and kept our coffee filled. We started with a short order of pancakes for the table as a breakfast appetizer. They were light, lemony, and fluffy. Our breakfast was delicious - the eggs were perfectly cooked, the sausage was savory, and the potatoes were large chunks of seasoned red potatoes. I would definitely come back!

We had no idea of what to expect when we went here for dinner last night except that we had seen photos of the pizza, the descriptions of authentic pastas, and that the chef (Thad Gillies) was formerly at Logan, which had been one of our favorite places in Ann Arbor. Although the space sounded odd, and the design of the menu is also a bit odd (separate menus rather than a single one listing all dishes) we thought that this could be a spectacular meal. It was. We had flavorful pepperoni on a truly amazing also flavorful crust, a tagliatelle carbonara that tasted perfectly balanced, as well as a remarkable goat cheese ravioli. The bar is also amazing (we had the house version of an Old Fashioned). As well as wonderful food, the service is attentive, quick, friendly, knowledgeable and everyone seems truly happy to be serving you. We saw many other dishes that we want to try, including other pizzas and pastas and dishes from other menus. We will definitely be returning here.

So excited to have Venue open - there are so many great options of food to pick from - my kids can order pizza and burgers, I got homemade pasta and my husband had fish and salad. Our friends have a son who is Celiac and there are so many gluten-free options. The staff is friendly, drinks were delicious and it is a gorgeous space to eat in. Definitely adding to the regular rotation.

Great experience! We had the salmon, burger and pork chop - all highly recommended. Parking directly in front of the restaurant was nice as well during a very cold and windy day. Looking forward to trying brunch.

Went April 20. Not impressed with their handling of customers and reservations. We made a reservation for an event, received a confirmation. When we arrived, we were told we had no reservations. The lady said she had to get the manager. 15 minutes later he showed up. Said the event was sold out. Yes, the website indicated that. So we wrote them a request to see a vacancy occurred. They indicated that does happen. We were surprised when we got a confirmation. The manager had no interest in determining what happened. He couldn’t care less. Yes, we could have a table in the warehouse side of the facility which is not very impressive. So we left and went to have dinner where we were treated like customers. We have other reservations but we will cancel them. What a shame. Don’t know what to say about their food. Privacy at best.

Amazing brunch! Beautiful multi-use building. Love the bar area. We will go back again. Reminded us of the cool venues in Chicago with atmosphere and great brunch. Chef Thad still making great food. Ann Arbor is becoming a cool city with multiple new venues.
