Have not been to Dalat since they moved from Ypsilanti to Ann Arbor. It is fast service. The pho was solid with lots of ingredients though could have used a bit more noodles. The pork chop rice plate was flavorful and moist.

Dalat is one of those places where you go for good food with basic comforts. It is nothing fancy but the food is good quality comfort food. The service is very good and the staff is friendly. Had dinner there along with a number of Vietnamese students - that tells me that it is like home to them. That is good enough for me.

Dalat doesn't shine the way it used to. Ordered the vegetarian vermicelli. Used to have fresh herbs and a nice flavor. This time was minus the herbs. It was flat with little flavor. Too bad Dalat used to be one of the best.

I walked in and ordered takeaway papaya salad, spring rolls and a vegetarian seitan dish recommended by the person taking my order when I asked about the catfish on the menu and was told they didn’t have it.I drove home, about 20 minutes from the restaurant and discovered that instead of papaya salad I received a pile of shredded cabbage with a few pieces of seitan on top. It was terrible. The spring rolls were tasteless, consisted of rolled up lettuce. The seitan dish was mediocre as well. I called at 8:00 pm to tell them I hadn’t received my papaya salad and got a recording stating they were closed even though closing time is listed as 8:30. Vietnamese food is my favorite cuisine and I have eaten it many times but never any food as lousy as this.

You probably ordered from other restaurant because we're the best Vietnamese restaurant in town for over 30 years. If you have not been to our place, please don't!

The workers here are not very customer friendly. Today I pointed out to the cashier that there was a credit card transaction fee incorrectly added to my cash transaction. She examined the receipt and merely retrieved coins from the register to refund the overcharge. There was no acknowledgment or apology given to me.
By the way, practically no other restaurants here charge a credit card fee on transactions. Too unfriendly. I will not be returning.

There are credit card charge in some restaurants and gas stations. Why bother to apologize to rude, thrifty and unreasonable person?

There's something new at the now well-established Dalat Vietnamese restaurant -- # 34 the Vietnamese Style Basil Fried Rice. This is comfort food Vietnamese style that truly places emphasis on the COMFORT. The comfort of the food is matched with relaxed comfort of the restaurant that's hard to beat. If you crave a simple, well-prepared dish to add to your meal in a quiet environment (frequently no music at all rather than the loud music now played at many of Ann Arbor's upscale restaurants), especially suitable for good conversation, Dalat and it friendly staff and their Vietnamese fried rice is difficult to match. BTW, the Vietnamese-styled Iced Coffee is hand-made by the owner each time (robusta beans and condensed milk) is a REAL no to be missed TREAT and a bargain at $3.25. (It can also be made hot but is more special if served cold.)

If you love Vietnamese food or southeast Asian cuisine in general, just keep moving. We seek out small small family places while traveling and hoped this would be an oasis in an area full of chain restaurants, but it was worse.

Thanks for trying our food. How many time have you been to our place? Have you tried Vietnamese cuisine before? We wouldn't be in business over 28 years for lousy cooking. If someone has visited your clinic once and leave you a superficial review, would that be accurate? If you let us know the mistakes we made, we'll be happy to fully refund and owe you an apology as our customer satisfaction guarantee. Instead you left us a nasty vague review on different social media networks. I don't believe it's a manner or behavior of a medical professional.

Visited Dalat for dinner and it was very tasty!
Our server was very friendly and checked on us an appropriate number of times.
I ordered a mixed seafood pho and my wife ordered shrimp stir-fry. We had an order of chicken wings to start.
Overall, we were pleased with the quality of the food - each of our entrees had very delicate and nuanced flavors in perfect balance.
Our order came to $44 after tip (two entrees, one app, no drinks).

Found hair in food as soon as food was brought to our table. Food was returned uneaten. No apology from owner or server. In response to my review on a different website owner claimed that the hair found in food was mine. All of us at the table had black hair, one girl had very blonde hair. The hair in food was light brown and it was found deep in the food. If it was ours it would have been on top of food. Accusing a customer of putting hair in her own food is just rude and wrong. You are upset that I didn't leave a tip, if you had made even a fake apology I would have left a tip. It's not about the mistakes we make but how we handle those mistakes. And you sir/mam is handling it extremely unprofessional by accusing a customer of putting hair in her food. Did you perform a DNA test on me? No apology No tip period.

You have fabricated the whole story. As an owner, we don't take tips, period. Our servers work for it. So that's between you and them. We have trained the best waitstaff. You basically wanted us to void the whole dinner with a rude attitude. You left your server a nasty note. Then you took your anger to leave us a phony & nasty review on Google. You will probably leave another hatred & nasty review at Yelp too. Dalat restaurant has been around since 1990. We're proud doing honest business with customer satisfaction guarantee to reasonable customers. We have zero tolerance to ill-mannered and rude customers. You're also a business owner and you should communicate like one.

My first visit to this restaurant. Plenty of free parking at the door. Convenient location near Brookdale mall and Busch's market. New, clean dining room. Plenty of tables and no wait on this weekday evening. Very fast service, friendly. Enjoyed a fresh shrimp roll with peanut sauce, stir-fried chicken, lemongrass, chili sauce and onions bedded with chopped lettuce, and Bo kho (Vietnamese styled beef stew with carrots, mushrooms and onions, more like a soup than stew). We ordered food mild, and I was very pleased with our choices.

Had eaten at the Ypsilanti restaurant and were excited to see how the new location was. The servers are very friendly and welcoming. The food was good, it just takes forever to get it, and no one gets their meal at the same time. One plate was brought out, and then 10 minutes later another, 5 minutes later another..it took 20 minutes for everyone at our table to get their food. To me that is a forgivable faux pas because they are so friendly and hard working and the food is great. Just beware-when your food comes-EAT!

We appreciate your business and this helpful review. Our kitchen staffs are very efficient in handling food. Our server must have sent the same dishes to the wrong table. We apologize and will make it up on your next visit. Thank you for your patronage.

I've only tried their chicken pho (which I prefer to beef) and deep fried spring rolls. The pho was excellent. Could have used a bit more chicken in it, but what was in it was tasty. The broth had depth, which so often isn't the case, and I drank most of it. It would have been nice to have more greens to add rather than bean sprouts, but one can't have everything. At least there was a lime wedge and pepper slices. The spring rolls were nice and crispy.
Next time, I will try other things. I noticed they have iced coffee with sweet condensed milk, one of my favorites, which I will order next time.
Restaurant gives discount if you pay in cash.

Finally, Dalat has come to Ann Arbor -- where it belongs! Now the restaurant serves high quality, down home, Vietnamese food due to younger members of the Le family -- led by the daughter-in-law as executive chef -- assuming kitchen leadership. Such an improvement is accompanied by an inviting dining room all aided by much more generous parking available at Woodland Plaza where S. Main splits off from Ann Arbor-Saline Rd. Dalat's menu has been changed some but old favorites shrimp roll and egg roll (appetizers), #11 & #12 (pho), and Bun bo Hue, a really winning spicy rice noodle soup with beef and pork continue as winners. I wish to note that many dishes come with the refreshingly cool sweet and sour sauce to go with both hot and cool dishes. At lunch the two bento boxes boxes are a fine addition to the menu. Dalat attracts a real crowd so there can be a wait so patience can be needed at times, but you and yours will be richly rewarded. Take out is available.
