First things first. COVID safe: has outdoor, adequately distanced seating both shaded and sunny. Employees are wearing masks at all times. Beer served in disposable cups. Just enjoyed lunch there with my best friend this afternoon. It was actually our second visit; we were there for dinner a year ago on our annual girls’ trip and tbh we were not terribly impressed. The beer was good but the food was nothing to write home about. Let’s just say we’re not in our twenties anymore so the packed dining room and hipster vibe was a bit overwhelming for us. Luckily, a visit to another local restaurant (JJ’s Steak and Pizza House-shout out to our wonderful server Susan lol) that had Austin Brother 45’er IPA on draft reminded us just how good the beer actually is there. We have been traveling Michigan for many years now and have experienced some of the best beer our state has to offer and this has to be one of my favorite IPA’s of all time (I’m a total hophead and I love the grapefruit/pear notes). On that basis alone we decided to give it another chance. On this visit we sat outside on the shaded patio where we could enjoy the beautiful day and the fresh air and actually carry on a conversation (there was music but it wasn’t blasting). The food this time was absolutely fantastic. I ordered the Prime Rib Sandwich and it was perfect. The gourmet roll was soft, the meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly and topped with grilled onions, Swiss cheese and their delicious garlic aioli. The fries on the side were nice and crispy and served with their house made ketchup. My friend ordered the Reuben on sourdough bread and loved it. She also really enjoyed the Key Lime Smoothie IPA. Our server, Derek, was fabulous (I’m starting to run out of superlatives here). I’ve been in customer service/management for a very long time and I recognize excellence when I see it. He was genuinely nice (it’s hard to fake it when you can only smile with your eyes lol), knowledgeable and enthusiastic and a great representative of your brand. I hope if the owners read this they will pass on our compliments. Looking forward to our next visit!

Cute spot. Definitely very COVID aware - great outdoor seating area and lots of solid safety measures. Excellent food and drink. The loaded chili cheese fries are enough to feed a small army, and the kids loved their cheeseburgers. Awesome service. Worth a stop!

We stopped for lunch. The food and service were both excellent. We ate outside and they told us up front that they were short staffed, but they did a great job of keeping on top of things and letting us know the status of things. We ordered the loaded flank steak burrito and brew fries. Food was served quickly, was hot and delicious! Great beer! We ate outside and the tables were nicely spaced.

We had been hiking all day and we were thungry so as soon we arrived in Alpena we made a beeline for Austin Brothers. They were slammed but we knew why from the reviews. April met us at the door and explained our options gave us a beeper and we made our way to the bar to get a beer to enjoy on the patio while we waited for a table. We both tried the Bae Sour which was unusual and delicious since it wasn't flavored with fruit. Yummo. Needless to say that didn't last long and was just the thirst quencher we needed and fortunately the beeper rang and April ushered us to a table and turned server from hostess quickly bringing us another beer. The menu is varied and eclectic. I wanted the Swiss Tender Sandwich which wasn't available so we both ended up ordering the Smoked Tri Tip Sirloin which was excellent. The fries are some of the best I've had recently and our server April continued to amaze us with her friendly and courteous personality. She was a joy to meet. You won't be disappointed at this place.

This new restaurant in town has easily become one of my favorites, fast. I enjoy the food even more than the craft beer— which as far as those go are remarkably better than you’d think. Even if your not into crafty beers this place has offerings on the light side for an enjoyable palate experience. Also, the way the food is served on the wooden boards adds an extra pizazz to the experience. Will become a regular here.

Awesome service and food! We visited on a busy rainy day, were greeted by a very friendly server Erica who promptly cleaned off a table on the deck so we could dine under the overhang on the porch. Erica was a delight throughout our meal. We had delicious whitefish dip and shared a yummy tritip and smoked sausage with delicious beer battered fries. Only Erica and one other server handled the crowd both inside and on the patio. Erica’s attitude was amazing, she dealt with the crowd and every request with a smile. Both my husband and I were extremely impressed with the terrific service from Erica and the food was delicious! 5/5!!

This was our second stop on a birthday adventure . Off the beaten path we got there right when they opened at Noon. Found it on- line. The beer was great and the food was fresh, flavorful and delicious. We had the gyro, the Chicken wrap and a rueben with the best French fries. Everyone loved their sandwiches . Definitely recommend stopping here!

Very impressed with the quality of the food here. We had the special (Tenderloin sandwich) and it was very good! We sampled several of their beers and it's hard to pick a favorite. We'll be back to sample some more and also some menu items. We ended up leaving with a Cherry Bomb growler. The only negative thing I could say is that the prices are a bit high but that's not a big negative because the food is good. You get what you pay for so I don't mind so much the cost if the taste is there.

I stopped here during my M-23 tour and enjoyed a 4 beer 5 ounce non flight board flight an appetizer and a late dinner. The beers were very good with my favorite being the Sumo Sumatra. My appetizer was the white fish dip that was huge and could definitely feed 4 people. The assortment of crackers and breads that came with it was wonderful. My entree was the chicken bacon ranch sandwich with fries was excellent. Indoor/Outdoor bar and flattop seating. Log cabin/wood theme. Clean with very good service. Wifi. Pre packaged beer along with souvenir glasses, shirts, etc. for sale. I took home a 4 pack of Sumatra. I would highly recommend if you’re in the area.

Enjoyed dinner with friends tonight. Would have given a 5 star review except for the Walleye sandwich. The fish was very good, but the batter was so thick that I ended up removing it. It was not cooked through & gummy on the inside. Service was excellent, the brews were yummy. In hindsight I should have sent the fish back to the kitchen instead of having to deconstruct it to eat.

Solid beer choices. Solid food as well, just stay away from the Korean Chicken Sandwich. Nothing special sorry just wasn’t that. Everyone in the group have rave reviews of the prime rib sandwich, fish tacos and the Reuben. Will definitely come back when I’m back in the area. Beers were delicious as well as very reasonable in price!!

We went here for an early dinner after doing some sightseeing in the area. A worker at one of our stops recommended it so we thought we’d give it a try. YUM-MO! We were told they had no tables inside so we sat in the enclosed porch area which was very nice. My husband had the beef tips sandwich and I had the Kansas City BBQ, both delicious. Both had hearty portions and a huge pile of fries. We could have split one order of the fries and still had leftovers. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. And the meal came quickly. I’m glad we took the recommendation to heart. 5 stars!

We try to stop here every chance we are Upnorth. It is an hour and a half drive, but worth it!! Best beers ever (and we love trying new breweries). We actually use their “find my beer” to track down their beers when we can’t get Upnorth. Food always amazing! Staff always super friendly! Worth a try - you’ll never regret. Darek, one of the staff, will take great care of you!

We sat outside in their heated, partially enclosed outdoor patio area. They have ceiling-type heaters that were putting out lots of warmth. The seating is a picnic table that would comfortably seat 6 people. It was important to us that they were carefully following all Covid protocols. The tables were well spaced out, everyone was properly wearing a mask and cleaning protocols were adequate. The service was friendly and prompt. We will definitely go back.

Excellent service. Great beer. Good selection on the menu. We enjoyed an appetizer of fried pickle chips. For our entrees, we had the shrimp Thai boy sandwich and the burnt ends (brisket) sandwich. Both were delicious! There is a choice of sides-broccoli salad, dinner salad, or fries. The beer is wonderful. I enjoyed one of the sours-a ginger lime, and my husband had the amber. Our favorite was the ginger lime for sure! We will be back when in the area again.
