Everything we first attempted to order at lunch was either out from the weekend (on a Tuesday) or was a dinner item they wouldn’t make at lunch. Only customers in the place from noon until 12:45pm when one regular bellied up to the bar. Hamburger was OK but the fries were good. Boneless chicken wings were OK but on the small side. The Michigan Salad got the highest ratings from our group. Slow kitchen service gets a pass in the COVID world.

Went to Alpena to go to our favorite restaurant. It was closed. Found this hidden gem. Quiet little pub with great food and service. Had Scottish eggs, wings, fish and chips and a great burger. We will be back.

Great fish and chips, great price, staff was working hard to take care of everyone. A few different local craft beers as well to try.

The food was great, the bartender/ server was friendly and fast. The prices very reasonable. We’re not drinkers so I can’t comment on all the many beers on tap, but every thing else was great!

Best bar in town! Owners are amazing. It’s a great atmosphere with awesome food and drinks! It’s a must stop if you’re in Alpena.

So I’ll start with the fact that they have a decent selection of craft on tap and they do a great job with various cocktails. The food is very good, especially ribs.... but Susan, she’s just awesome! Susan sees to it that you’re only a stranger there once... service is so important and she knows it!

While visiting friends at Hubbard Lake (a beautiful place) we took a quick trip into Alpena and hit a museum and a movie, before leaving we grabbed a quick lunch at the Black Sheep- 4 kids & 2 adults. The woman working was more than kind-she was great with the kids, the atmosphere was great, and we all enjoyed our food. We had a variety, from the Cooper Basket (Slider with fries- perfect for my 7 year old), wings, chicken tenders, and a philly steak that was amazing! Only wish I wasn't headed on a 3 hour drive home as I would have liked to try a pint or two from the draught selection. Highly Recommend!

My buddies were in town helping me clear a piece of property so naturally we wanted to go out after a long day playing with chainsaws. The bartender was in for a treat!! She was very accommodating and even fired up the oven to make us some pizzas. Their BLT pizza is a must try.

Met up with some friends on a Wednesday evening to grab some drinks and snacks, great place to stop through. When we came Live music was playing, there’s a good variety of local beers on tap, as well as from other breweries from around the state. Limited menu but it has pizza choices as well as a variety of appetizers. We grabbed some chips & salsa and some Scottish Eggs to go with our drinks and had a good time catching up. When we come back through Alpena we would definitely love to stop through again.

Went on a weekday afternoon for lunch. Decent selection of beers and ciders on draft and in bottles. We had burgers, the Knight Burger is big and gooey with cheese, fried egg and thousand island dressing. Skin-on fries crisp, but oil was a little tired. Friendly service, not crowded when we were there.

Two of us had fish and chips and they were just about best I had ever had. Wines were really good. Prices were reasonable. The waitress/owner was very friendly and knowledgeable
