Since I used to live in Jebel Ali I went over to the mall on my last visit. Japengo has been a consistant restaurant chain i have eaten at many times. I ordered one of the sushu platters and with some extra spicy tuna roll. The food was very good even though I could see the chef needed to practice... More

This place features food from around the world. They blur the lines of convention when they mix Italian cuisine with Chinese fare. Overall, I would say this place lacks an identity. The name of the restaurant suggests Japanese food, but the sushi isnt a source of satisfaction. I wouldnt turn my nose up to the food and would come back... More

I love eating at Japengo. The prices are reasonable. The quantities generous, and the quality does not change. The seafood platter is yum and their Miso prawn cocktail is something I always enjoy.

The sushi and maki rolls are truly excellent; the ginger and wasabi are fresh; I've developed a sushi habit since discovering this restaurant in the Mall of the Emirates.

Our first mistake about the restaurant was coming with empty stomachs. We left half of our plates and are still starving into death. As a starter, we had Chicken Dumplings which was ok. My boyfriend asked for miniburgers and I ordered Nicoise Salad. The quality of the food was disaster! I hope they will change the chief soon!

Dinner at Japengo a couple of days ago. Sushi and Pizza for the kids. Food was excellent and the price was more than fair. Only suggestion is to put a little less cheese on the Margherita pizza.

Sushi was good yet pricey and we also ordered calamari waiter never wrote it down so forgot, had to ask for it! Plus took about 15mins to come! No one was in the place at festival city branch and we were not looked at had to sit with empty plates and basically ask for everything! Attention to detail needed here!... More

Japengo is one of those places that everyone can find something they like in the one place. Whether you want pizza, Japanese, Arabic, Asian or salads, Japengo produces fine quality, fresh and tasty meals, to suit all tastes. It's good value, and they're in good locations - Festival City and Trade Centre are particularly nice. Service can sometimes be hit... More

Staying in The Marina

Neighborhood Profile
The Marina
It’s hard to believe that only a decade ago there was no marina. Opened in 2003, the man-made marina runs along a 3km stretch of shoreline. A heady mix of luxurious hotels, apartment buildings, and cafes, the marina hosts regular community events and markets, and is a wonderful place to while away an afternoon or evening. Spectacular at night when the skyscrapers glisten, here you can enjoy dinner on the beach next to the sea, or visit a high-rise bar in a hotel for a magnificent view across the Gulf and the man-made Palm Island, with the world-famous Atlantis Hotel at its end. The Walk at Jumeirah beach Residences is a pedestrianized stretch leading to a new development: The Beach. It’s one of the few places where Gulf nationals mix with tourists and Western ex-pats. It’s a popular place to show off your supercar for an evening, so watch out for Lamborghinis, Maseratis, and Ferraris in abundance.
