It was my first time at Sallet Al Sayad restaurant and I was really happy about my choice! This is true Levantine Seafood Experience! This is family restaurant, in very quiet location. This is no touristic place. There were mainly local residents of Dubai. The...host was very polite and professional, who advised us to chose our own fish and seafood. Everything was so fresh and tasty. We had fried calamaries, grilled prawns, dorada and seabass. A lot of fresh greens were served with hummus while we were waiting for grilled seafood to come. Service was very fast and 10 minutes later we were enjoying our meal. They use some special sauce on the grilled fish and seafood and it was great! As this restaurant doesn't serve alcohol, our meal was reasonably priced. We enjoyed our seafood and I will definitely come back to this restaurant again!More

Although it boasts a Palestinian kitchen and management; Sallet Sayyad maintains the flavors and recipes of the Mediterranean and Levant. Fresh whole catches - fishmarket style- are displayed for your choice of cooking style.... My personal favorites are grilled prawns and a butterfly style grilled...red snaper. Preceded by freshly cut peasant salad and butter/lemon/garlic sauce squid rings.... The fresh and fragrant locally baked bread comes directly to the table from the specialty stove ... dip in with all 10 and indulge.... Look for Abu Mohammad or Hany and leave it to them..... Never mind the Karama side location and even the old decor. This joint is about excellent food for a reasonable pay.More

I regularly go to Sallet Al Sayad (Fish Basket) whenever I am in Dubai as it offers excellent and fresh seafood at an affordable price. My favorite dishes are the spicy tomato salad, the calamari in garlic sauce, grilled prawns and of course the grilled...hamour. You can chose the seafood at a counter where it is displayed on ice. The service is friendly and usually very fast.More
