I frequented this restaurant many times during my visit and always ordered eggs benedict followed by an acai bowl. I decided to order both entrees together so the acai bowl could thaw out while I ate the eggs benedict, since ordering separately always caused the...acai bowl to be frozen when it arrived. When I finished my final eggs benedict I decided to swoop into the acai bowl. Upon my first bite I noticed an odd crunch. I tried to ignore it but couldn't. It was unlike anything Id ever crunched, like crunching on small grains of sand. I immediately reach my finger in my mouth and pulled out a sharp, small piece of glass on the tip. I spit out everything in my mouth and began brushing my teeth with a napkin. I called over the server and showed him the glass on my finger. His eyes grew big and he apologized and took away the bowl. After I came back from the bathroom the manager approached me with a smile and asked what was wrong. I told him glass in my acai bowl is what was wrong. And he immediately began trying to convince me it was ice and not glass. I asked him if he thought in all my years on planet earth I would have never eaten ice before, and since his acai bowls are always frozen surely id know the difference between glass and acai ice. He kept trying to sell me on the idea it was ice as if he was more worried about me pressing charges than addressing the issue as he gestured to the same server who'd acknowledged the glass and was now sifting through the bowl with gloves to reasure me it was just ice. I told him that same server saw the ice when I showed it to him, and the server agreed. Nevertheless the manager asked the cook to bring out the frozen acai to prove it had small pieces of ice in it as if ice present in the acai in the freezer proves there was no glass in my mouth or acai bowl 5 minutes prior. Since it wasnt my intention to press charges but to bring it to their attention I decided to leave but before I could the manager tried to passive aggressively prove his case by asking if I wanted another acai bow. I couldnt believe his chutzpah. Its no wonder i was the only one ever eating in the restaurant. I told him obviously I dont, and that I dont want anything from there and wouldnt be coming back. I highly suggest you stay away as well as dubai mall has plenty of high quality options. Lesson learned is if no one else is in the restaurant you probably dont want to be the first. I went back to my hotel and immediately through up the meal to keep the glass I missed from destroying my gut. The restaurant did have a friendly staff though.More
