We came her with some friends that were leaving Dubai. We arrived at the restaurant with plans to have a drink at the bar first. My friend had shorts on and was told no shorts at the bar although in the restaurant was fine (there was only one person in the bar and nobody in the restaurant-it was near the... More

I visited the place so many times, and each time the place prints an unforgettable memory. I cant speak of the food, a well balanced italian spirit especially for wine lovers. Winter vibes with the piano is just perfect. Must try.

We both had soup starters, mine was mushroom my wife's was truffle and egg with both being delicious. We shared a bottle of Nero d'avola which was cheaper because it was 7.30 pm and Happy Hour. First visited Frankies 5 years ago and loved the place.....How things have changed. Booked a table with my partner and was ushered into a dark corner even though the place was mostly empty. First impressions where of a tired little smoke hole. Cheap Ikea red wine glasses which i initailly thought were candles ! Asked for bread board which was... More

My husband was refused entry to the bar last week as they have a "no shorts" policy even though they were tailored shorts and he also had a smart collared shirt on. When we said to the them that there were females with denim shorts on in the bar their reply was the policy is only for males!!!! Come on,... More

Met friends there for dinner and we had a memorable time. The food was outstanding, well prepared and presented. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

I've been meaning to go to Frankie's for years, it's been open ages and I've heard good things so when I was down with my girlfriend at JBR on the weekend we decided to pop in for some food. We had an entertainer voucher so it seemed a good idea. It was 6pm and we were the only people in... More

Despite this restaurant being here for many years now, I don't understand why it's always empty whenever I visit. This is such a Dubai Hidden Gem, with great food, great atmosphere, decor and lovely staff. Their portion sizes are quite small so there's definitely room for 3 courses, make sure you have a dessert they are out of this world!

I always pay a visit to Frankies on my last night in Dubai, as it is a treat before we have to fly home. I have been here about 5 times and never been disappointed. Always start with the foie gras which is one of my fave dishes here. We are visiting here this evening with friends for their 25th... More

Hi Ahmad,

I just happened to see your review, and especially your following comment:

"my friend wanted to order her own penne pasta and customize it based on what she wants, mushroom and broccoli added to the pasta. After a while when i was standing in the bar with my friends, we over heared the chef was talking bad about our table as he was furious and talking in a bad tone about us with mr. Angelo saying that "if we want to order such kind of food they should go to such cheap fast foods which they make such foods", and he was refusing to make that dish!!!"

This is very strange of you to post. I have known and gone to Frankie's for years, and trust me, we have challenged chef Fabio on many occasions. Not once has he failed me and my guests in facilitating the craziest food requests. He might have rolled his eyes some times but he always out did himself in producing the food requested. He never shook his head or refused to comply with our wishes.

Your friend must either be a lousy cook, a pretentious, not in the know restaurant guest; or you did not articulate and verbalize your request properly. I reckon the later being the case.

Cooks are cooks and Chefs are Artists. Fabio is an artist, and he is one of the best I might add. Having traveled and are traveling the world, I have been to pretty much all high end and top restaurants. Frankie's is well balanced and very high quality, and the atmosphere is unique. Every guest there is made welcome and is being appreciated.

Please don't take my response to be patronizing. However, its like someone telling me the engine of my Bentley doesn't run smoothly or the seats on my corporate jet are uncomfortable. Comments like that might come from a Chevrolet or Cadillac driver and someone flying economy on an European or American airline carrier.

Be safe, have fun, hug a loved one and enjoy life; ang return to Frankie's so you discover the uniqueness of the place.

Best regards,

Alexis Alexa

Staying in The Marina

Neighborhood Profile
The Marina
It’s hard to believe that only a decade ago there was no marina. Opened in 2003, the man-made marina runs along a 3km stretch of shoreline. A heady mix of luxurious hotels, apartment buildings, and cafes, the marina hosts regular community events and markets, and is a wonderful place to while away an afternoon or evening. Spectacular at night when the skyscrapers glisten, here you can enjoy dinner on the beach next to the sea, or visit a high-rise bar in a hotel for a magnificent view across the Gulf and the man-made Palm Island, with the world-famous Atlantis Hotel at its end. The Walk at Jumeirah beach Residences is a pedestrianized stretch leading to a new development: The Beach. It’s one of the few places where Gulf nationals mix with tourists and Western ex-pats. It’s a popular place to show off your supercar for an evening, so watch out for Lamborghinis, Maseratis, and Ferraris in abundance.
