Lovely local outdoor restaurant open since 1956 overlooking the creek and all the boats passing by. Pleasant food and good service.

Lovely little restaurant, nice setting and a good place to cool down. We had salads and soup for lunch and the prices were expensive for the food that we received. Not especially appetising

Living in Dubai this place always gives me a feeling of a staycation- very simple place with good decent Arabic food directly at the creek always worth a visit to chill reflect the traffic on the creek and to get a beem back in time a bit, usually there is always a nice breeze.... The food is simple and the... More

Had a tasty lunch here. You can sit at the creek front with great views of the creek. Food was tasty, good serving sizes. Enjoyed the fruit drinks. Service was very good. Not sure about the veggies and chips served with this local cuisine but enjoyed it. Also good location for the textile souk.

Useful stop for lunch if visiting Deira and the Souks in The Creek area. Quick service. Arabian food. Soft drinks only. Try the lemon and mint.

Historic building (with interesting information available), a/c dining room or terrace on Creek. Very reasonable prices. At wonderful escape from the soukh.

The terrace on the water is somewhat unexpected in this district. It is comfortable and offers a very good view over the Creek. The food was very good, esp the falafels and the mint lemon juice. the service was effective.

Extremely good value for money, and an enjoyable experience dining and watching the boats go by. Popular with the locals.

I don't usually add milk/cream to an americano but I'm glad I did when I ordered one here as it allowed me to spot the insects floating in my drink, of which there were more in the coffee pot. I would have complained but there was no one around. This pretty much ruined the meal that I ordered.

Staying in The Creek

Neighborhood Profile
The Creek
The smell of frankincense hangs thick and heavy in the air, waves lap gently at jetties, and market traders call to passing tourists. The creek, originally the place where pearl boats docked and left on missions to uncover jewels from the deep, is where the city really began. The Al Fahidi District on the Creekside is one of the oldest heritage sites in Dubai, easily recognizable with its iconic wind towers, the original air conditioning. Home to the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding and the Dubai Museum, the old buildings also house a range of cafes, shops and art galleries. Often called “the real Dubai,” this is a wonderful place to lose yourself before catching an abra across the creek to the spice souk, where your senses will be overwhelmed with tastes, smells, and sounds.
