Most people come for the croissants, the pain au chocolat, the baguettes. But the icecream here is the best in town. It is homemade and delicious. Flavours change depending on what's available: you can find vanilla, caramel, coffee, coconut, mint chocolate chip, sometimes cocoa, as well as sorbets: mango, strawberry, passionfruit, etc. Ok, it is about twice as sweet as... Good French based cafe. Feels like being in Brittany . Good choice . Disappointing that no wifi unlike branch in Vientiane. Galette, pizza , baguettes and crepes all filled a hole. Service ok if a little slow and reserved maybe. Pain au chocolat are what we came for and they never disappoint. Make a trip

This is a regular daily stop when we are in Luang Prabang for great coffee and cake or sometimes for a light early meal. We have never been disappointed, as the quality of all fare is consistently high as well as being delicious. Staff are always friendly and efficient and the business of the Cafe on a daily basis is... More

I stayed at Luang Prabang for 3 days and this restaurant is my favorite place. Breakfast set is delicious. Dessert is good.

Le Banneton is the place to go for croissants, pain au chocolate and other types of pastries in Luang Prabang. They also offer homemade ice cream. Caramel is my favourite. The cafe also offers sandwiches, salads and other simples plated. The have cut down on the types of crepes on the menu. Pity. I don't recommend the coffee. There are... More

A lovely French bakery offering authentic tartes, croissants, and baguettes. It is usually very busy so we haven't eaten in the café, but stopped by numerous times to take things to go. The baguette sandwiches with vinaigrette are especially tasty. They have another outpost in Vientiane which is equally high quality.

I fell in love with this cafe when I first went to Luang Prabang. It was a low season and very quiet. Right opposite Wat Sop. Imagine you are having coffee and monks are seen right in front of you! Could feel that I was in Laos. Loved the interior as well. In the quiet hours, reading my book outside... More

The sandwiches and salats are not cheap but they did not taste bad. Just average. How on earth can you have a place like this for foreign tourists without having a good Wifi network. Too bad I placed my order already because I would have walked away. So many places in Luang Prabang with similar or better food and a... More

In line with the strong french heritage in LP, this is one of the superb old-style French cafes in town. Probably a bit expensive by LP standards, but still very reasonably priced. Had 2 ice creams and 1 yoghurt for 43K kip (USD 5.5). Beautiful interiors, relaxed atmosphere.

Went to a lot of cafes in Luang Prabang, and this place has by far the best looking (and tasting) pastries. Plus reasonably priced. Had snacks there also (tartine and baguette sandwich), it was all good and well portioned. Quiet place to spend a few hours. Only cons are no aircon area and no wi-fi.

Description
Excellant french bakery which also has a branck in Vientiane. Has over 30 types of bread & pastaries. Open from 6.30AM to about 6PM. Very good coffee. I am a regular there for my morning coffee & pastry. I can upload a photo.
