I ordered the 3 sampler to try. And was able to customize it by adding on dried seaweed even though that wasn’t part of the selection. Thank you senior staff Somphore (hope I got the spelling right) for the recommendation of fish with herbs. It...More

If you're after some local laotian cuisine do try Tamarind. Not the cheapest but they offer better service, higher quality food. Don't be afraid of the buffalo bile, makes the dish that much better. The pumpkin custard was also a bit left wing but DELICIOUS...More

Tamarind sits on the road overlooking the Khan river, just beyond the bamboo bridge. It may be near the top end of Luang Prabang restaurants but it was a busy, good-natured place with no pretensions. The menu pushed its Laotian specialities, and we were happy...More

The food is really amazing! I recommend mix starter and lemongrass chicken! The food is very tasty with many flavors! The service is also good too. If you go in peak season, then you better book a table before you go!

Visited Tamarind for lunch. Tamarind cooler and bamboo chips are to die for. Especially Tamarind cooler so refreshing in the scorching heat

Although there’s some great food to be found in Luang Prabang, we ate in Tamarind 3 times during our 5-night stay, that’s how good it was! Definitely the best culinary experience we had in the whole country, including Vientiane, with some local food that was...More

Food is very regular. It was our worst experience in our trip across Cambodja Laos and Vietnam. Food with no flavour. I made the payment in dollars and they wanted to give the exchange in Laos currency. Service medium/low, people are more nice in other...More

A great restaurant offering an excellent menu and more particularly the choice between three gourmets choices for two at very reasonable price. The food is delicious, the variety amazing and the taste compares very favorably to most laos restaurants in Luang Prabang.

Lovely outdoor terrace with view to river, bamboo bridges, street and park life. Unhurried service with explanations. Delicious tasting menu with casting out of belief that you cannot use your fingers. Only local ingredients beautifully presented.

Hi Sanfrankate. Sadly, you've missed the transport that takes people from the restaurant to our lakeside cooking school. So it's not really possible to join the class after it has started. It's unfortunate you didn't phone... More

Hi Ryan, we have a number of dishes that are naturally gluten free, and several that can be customised to be prepared without soy sauce (which in a Lao menu is the main offender). Our Senior Staff should be able to guide you... More
