This restaurant was in a beautiful setting near our hotel, so we tried it. It’s a bit further away from the main tourist area, so we thought it would be good. They didn’t serve fruit juices, only cocktails, beer and sugary drinks, so we had...to settle for a bottle of water. We had the lemon fish, and it gave me diarrhoea the next day. As soon as the fish appeared, so did lots of flies, and a cat, which we couldn’t get rid of. It’s a shame about all of this because otherwise it’s a beautiful location.More

We had lunch at this restaurant on 14/11/2019 and really the food is delicious with an impeccable service. The view of the Mekong River is amazing giving a perfect atmosphere for a wonderful afternoon.

This has to be one of the best restaurants to watch the paper machete boats and the candles floating down the Mekong River for the Festival of light. Make sure you get a table overlooking the river. If you come on the night of the...parade (this year in the 14th October) give yourself time to walk along with the parade floats. The whole town comes out for this. Every family is expected to float boat candles down the river. It is a spectacular scene. The food here is excellent but if you make a booking it is good to have a guide who can assist you with the language to make sure of the booking details. They have a range of Beerlao including Gold. Don’t believe the menu with respect to credit card, only cash would do as their machine doesn’t work- a common problem in Laos.More
