Such a good meal. I’ve had far worse in France! I had the best escargots ever, really large and tender. My main course was a ‘stew’ of scallops and fish in a very light sauce. Then chocolate mouse - delicious. Nicely served by attentive staff....More

Overpriced for the food, there is so much good food in Luang Prabang that you do not have to pay through the roof for. If this restaurant had an ambiance or view then maybe, it cannot compete with Manda de Laos but you pay a...More

I enjoyed everything about my dining experience here , except the check ! I don’t mind paying high prices, when the products and markets demand it. My meal without alcohol, was $70 US. A salad and an entree, with a bottle of sparkling water. A...More

The manager informed us and he was pretty confused as we mention it in our menu and the restaurants of our range do the same. Nevertheless, I can understand it can be surprising and apologize for the inconveniences. We are happy you enjoyed the place...More

Though I had done some research and read reviews regarding this restaurant, I was not planning to give it a try until I passed by it. The pretty setting with dangling lights makes the restaurant very romantic. It drew my attention so I just walked...More

The menu offers plenty of options from Vegetarian to French. We enjoyed our meal but would not say it was a standout. In fact we were more impressed with their smaller "Green Elephant" vegetarian cafe next door.

Easily our most expensive meal in Luang Prabang, L'Elephant did have pretty good French food. However, with so many excellent restaurants in town, I am not entirely sure the food was spectacular enough to warrant the price tag. Regardless, we had a nice evening and...More

Located in a building from the 60s, near the banks from the Mekong, the Restaurant “L'Elephant” offers an essentially "falang" (French) Menu with a small selection of Lao Dishes since 2000. From the home-made charcuterie to the duck breast roasted with “Mak Toum” or the Burgundy snails, L'Eléphant offers you original French family style cuisine. L'Eléphant restaurant cooks typical Lao dishes for you; dried meats and river weed as an aperitif, soups, grills or fish wrapped in banana leaves… Home-made breads and pastries, wines, spirits, ciders and a selection of beers complete the offer of this old-fashioned restaurant, chic, classy yet simple with its wooden floors and local wooden furniture. Relaxed atmosphere; casual attire! Open daily for lunch and dinner! Home made pastries and drinks all the day long ! You can choose from the à la Carte, our set menus or opt for the daily menu (110 000 kips for 3 dishes)! We are looking forward to welcome you!
