This is the stand out restaurant for us in Laung Prabang. The service and presentation of fine food is excellent. The well trained staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The extensive menu and wine list complete the picture. At lunchtime they have a set special menu offering...More

This restaurant might be one of the most expansive in town but had great cocktail and good food (for same price as a very random European restaurant). They don't only offer french cuisine but also a menu with several courses of local recipes. The best...More

Outstanding, attentive service sets this restaurant apart. A big tourist group were seated near us and their tour guide was loudly translating the set menu for their large table. Quickly a waiter determined this wasn’t in keeping with the restaurants atmosphere and he was politely...More

We expected fabulous French fare with a Laotian twist. We were disappointed - they were too many options on the menu which was very confusing. Being a vegetarian, I tried the vegan set menu - sadly vegetables were not highlighted. I had some kind of...More

I was quit sceptical at first as it seem to cater to tourists / groups. It cost apron 3x what you would pay for something similar at a more simple restaurant. Easy to reach, book a table in advance - it fills up. Nice reception...More

My husband and I had an absolute pleasure to dine at the L'Elephant back in October 2018. Food was amazing! My husband and I are vegetarian/vegan and the dishes served to us were simply scrumptious! Portions were massive! Most definitely a must once in Luang...More

There are two restaurants side by side and the one in the back supposedly focuses on veggie food. It’s completely overpriced and unimaginative. (Yes spinach quiche is vegetarian and so is cheese and tomatoes, but that doesn’t make it a ‘vegetarian’ restaurant). Bill was like...More

We had a delicious dinner here this week. We last ate here about 20 years ago when it was considered the best in town. It still ranks high and has maintained it's standards. The escargot are fab and served uniquely in egg cup like dishes....More

Description
Located in a building from the 60s, near the banks from the Mekong, the Restaurant “L'Elephant” offers an essentially "falang" (French) Menu with a small selection of Lao Dishes since 2000. From the home-made charcuterie to the duck breast roasted with “Mak Toum” or the Burgundy snails, L'Eléphant offers you original French family style cuisine. L'Eléphant restaurant cooks typical Lao dishes for you; dried meats and river weed as an aperitif, soups, grills or fish wrapped in banana leaves… Home-made breads and pastries, wines, spirits, ciders and a selection of beers complete the offer of this old-fashioned restaurant. Relaxed atmosphere; casual attire! Open daily for lunch and dinner! Home made pastries and drinks all the day long ! You can choose from the à la Carte, our set menus or opt for the daily menu (110 000 kips for 3 dishes)! We are looking forward to welcome you!
