We ate here multiple times during our stay in Mandalay. The food was delicious and authentic. It looks a little iffy from the outside but once you are eating you forget about that. Beer is roughly 50 NZ cents and a meal item is $3NZD...per item. Very cheap very tastyMore

Acceptable good food with traditional Shan style taste, I could say that I like the taste of the meal with some good choices, and it is quite cheap. But the service and attitude is at the maximum level of horribleness; they think and behave like...people have to come eat there no matter what and accept whichever manner they treat or behave like they are doing a favor by you get a chance to eat there like a Michellin Star restaurant minus the service!! The place has an absolute horrible service and attitude for a restaurant listed here, and shouldn't be on TripAdvisor at all. We went there just because of it is on this list, and it was the worst mistake for our late lunch experience. Of course if you don't mind to be treated like you owe them or they are doing a favor for you by moving their hands to put the meals on the plate, then go ahead and eat there !!! The place is a cheap place with around just $1.33 per meal. So, no wonder with the service. You get what you pay for. But if I'd known about it beforehand, I could have avoided this place since the beginning. It shouldn't be on the TripAdvisor at all, it is leading to false information and making the quality of recommendation to be unreliable at all. Never go to that place unless you are happy and accept such horrible service and jerk attitude. I don't know about the others from the shop but my experience was with two young jerks who were serving at that time.More

From the outside it looks like an ordinary street eating place no frills .. we were made so welcomed , we ate loads 😋 Lovely noodles and special rice and greens loads of greens .. pumpkin curry was my favourite.. The Mayamar beer was also...good cold ice cold .. Good price good value would recommend..More

The majority of customers is Burmese maybe a quarter Western tourist. The service is very good the food quite ok. You can sit inside or outside on the pavement.

If this place is #6 on this list then I’d hate to visit the others. It was filthy and the food was cooked fresh but was greasy and salty. Can’t believe this is ranked 6th

Fantastic service and tasty food! If you want an authentic Burmese meal then you must visit Shan Ma Ma restaurant. The setting is basic but all the restaurants in Mandalay appear to be this way. The owner is extremely helpful in getting you want you...want and the food literally comes out piping hot within minutes! The food is very tasty and the sheer choice on the menu is fantastic. A Must Visit!More

Frequented by locals and tourists alike, English menu available. Some staff are friendlier than others, but food came out in a reasonable amount of time. Good value for money.

Based on the reviews we ate here, it is authentic. The dinner ware comes in a sealed plastic package which gives you some comfort. The food was good, but the truth is the dining scene in Mandalay is not great. I did not use the...facilities but my husband did, which are on the other side of the kitchen and he did not come back encouraging me to go, the kitchen didn't look that clean but we did not get sick and it is authentic. Lots of locals eating and getting take away.More

This is not a touristic restaurant. Great pork dumplings and huge amount (to share) 4K kyats We ordered fried chicken noodles with a fried egg on top, best noodles I’ve ever tried in Asia! 2500 kyats

friendly, authentic and excellent street food, also enough choices for veggies. including tea for 2500 kyat. what can I say more
