This family owned restaurant was the best surprise I had in years. Authentic Transylvanian cuisine, excellent service and warm pleasant atmosphere. A very nice overall experience. Do not miss it if you are in Brasov! Will definitely return.
Nice wine selection which waiters pair with your food.I had biftec tartar which was good and a dessert: the pear with gorgonzola ice cream which for me is the best desert. It is light, very interesting aromas, refreshing
Though I heard the name before, the name Pilvax didn't ring any bell to me, as well as the association with Hungarian cuisine (I am THAT kind of person very happy to reach only Italian restaurants in Budapest)🧐
But today was the day we decided...to give Pilvax a chance. Not only we found a modern, fresh yet familiar ambiance, with attention to details, but we also found such amazing food and dessert. Told you I'm not a fan of Hungarian (heavy)cuisine but at Pilvax one can find traditional yet modernized, adapted dishes. I had a cherry palinka, a gulyas soup, a dessert called "lapte de pasare"
(Ille flotante) and an exquisite capuccinno.
I was really surprised and will definitely come back!More
Good Hungarian specialties backed up by a wine bar make for an excellent pranz, as the hearty main-meal lunch of Romania is known. I had the gulyas soup, a Hungarian-Romanian specialty that I eat all over this gorgeous country, and it was a good, not...brilliant one. The chicken paprikaș with spaetzel was a little underspiced but the chicken itself was of top quality.
Service was attentive but a little preoccupied and distant, as you might see in a tourist town. I was not offered a better table when it opened up after the awkward one at which I ended up was clearly not a happy choice for me. I asked, and was told it was reserved. Given the late lunch hour and the fact that no one ever took this table, I suspect some kind of other explanation was the reality.
Wines by the glass are skilfully described and of a good selection. Pleasant, not brilliant, but competent meals to enjoy while watching the snow softly fall through the picture window. Then go have a nap.More
Excellent food, drinks and a really great service! Got really good recommendations from the staff and as well a few words about the Hungarian cuisine. A place to come back and try more palinca and dishes!
We went there to have dinner on friends' recommendations and were not disappointed.
Restaurant is located in a quieter street just off the main walking street in the historic city center. Has an outside sitting area, but since it was already November we decided to...sit rather inside. It has a nice and cosy atmosphere, a unique design, we loved it. Food was delicious, stuff was very friendly.
Oh and don't miss the 'pálinka' called Székely Titok, I recommend the William's pear and dogberry flavours.More
We went for lunch and both me and my husband took crispy chicken with potatoes mash . The food is really simple , don’t expect any crazy reinterpretation of dishes by the chef ... it tasted very much like my moms food - she is...an excellent cook. Chicken was perfectly cooked , the ingredients feel very good quality but the price is quite high ... around 9 EUR for à medium size potion is quite much for Braşov and chicken.More
We really liked this small Hungarian restaurant and wine bar right in the heart of Brasov, on a somewhat quieter adjacent street. We tried the Gulash and the Paprika and they were tasty. The portions are medium sized. The terrace and the restaurant have amenities...for strollers (access ramp) which was very useful. It is a bit on the expensive side. The interior is nice, post-industrial decor, we really loved it. Quick and nice service.
Visited during the working week, at 18.00, the restaurant was quiet and almost empty.More
We entered here, following the advice of a friend. Quite interesting interior design and restroom.
We ordered traditional cheese starter and then goulash and duck breast. Also, the restaurant has a wide selection of wines.
Very tasty food. The goulash is really good. Must try!...Quick and efficient service.
Budget: medium, but worth it.More
