In a place where the most different kind of music and scenery meet in a surprisingly armonious way, Pardon Braserie & Restaurant it's a must on your "to do/see" list when you get to Sibiu. The cafe's tables are former sewing machines and they are named after European cities. Items that remind us of another era, a time when Bell or Felini were alive hang from the walls and the ceiling is covered in music sheets. That cafe is placed across the street from Thalia Hall and it has the terrace one of the most beautiful streets in town. We are going to let you decide whether this is the perfect place to escape reality or not.
great atmosphere on the terrace, excellent food. I ordered mussels with white wind & cream sauce, they were absolutely delicious. A vast portion, had to share the rest out. - but it was easy enough to find takers, as they were incredible.
Extortionate prices for horrible food. There is no kids menu, our kids were served a chicken leg each and mash potato out of the packet.
We ordered two Caesar salads which were horrible. It was just salad with some sort of dressing and what felt...like left over chicken which was dry, probably from a previous kids order. We paid 246 lei for two chicken legs and mash potato, two Caesar salads one coke, one bottle of water and two lemonades. There are plenty of other restaurants that serve way better food. Do not be fooled like I was by the lovely building and location it is situated in.
The staff are also unfriendly and inattentive. Avoid and save your moneyMore
The person serving us was rude and the food was not what we expected. The pasta was overcooked and a bit oily. The vegetables and the potatoes were supposed to be roasted but weren’t and the meat was supposed to be smoked but wasn’t. The...atmosphere is nice though.More
We arrived at the restaurant at around 19:00 on a weekday. It didn't take long for the menus to arrive but at that point we realized that our table was incredibly close to other tables around us, offering no privacy whatsoever. We settled on the...beef with shrimp pasta and the beef with pepper sauce. First off, the "shrimp pasta" had one piece of shrimp and the rest was a seafood mix. It was alright. Not bad but definitely not worth the 88 lei. The beef was also missing salt. The pepper sauce beef was more decent, served with rucola and "oven baked" potatoes (that were fried, not at all baked) and also still pricey at 80 lei.
All in all it's not a bad restaurant at all, but pretty average and not worth the prices they advertise.
worth a visit but don't expect anything amazing.More
