Regional and traditional dishes, made out of fresh, local and best of the season ingredients, gathered from all around the region of Sibiu, cooked in modern style with an emphasis on overall meal experience. We selected some of the best Romanian wines and a generous range of beers. All served in a cozy, warm, and friendly atmosphere, with a view to the open kitchen. Best meal I got since the beginning of coronavirus pandemic!
That trout cooked on pine wood charcoal was out of this world! It came next to some green branches of spruce and the waiter just lit one to produce the scent of conifer wood fire around the table. The right scent to enjoy the trout. I felt like in a mountain forest, on the bank of a crystal water creek, waiting for the the just fished trout to get cooked. The cauliflower puree delivered with the trout was another taste to remember.
Then I ordered Virşli sausages with the best mustard that I have ever tasted. First bite was like an electro-shock from tongue to nostrils.
Salata de Trezie, a mixture of sauerkraut, walnuts and fresh dill, was another hit.
All their ingredients are produced around Sibiu.
My people got crazy about the dessert, although I didn't try it as I didn't want to kill the taste of the trout and cauliflower puree. I left the restaurant missing the taste of that trout already.
Unfortunately, I had to drive, so I didn't have the chance to taste their wines. Can't wait to come back...

The absolute best food I have ever eaten so far. Great service, visually appealing dishes and a well balanced flavor make this restaurant my #1 choice ever. Prices are average or above average, but well worth it!
Small minuses: only a few dishes to chose from, but everything is exceptional... and the bass from the speakers was not adjusted and was slightly annoying.

A hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle of the old town and Piatas. The terrace is quiet, relaxed and the service is great. The food was high quality, all sourced from Romanian suppliers, and cooked to perfection and also real value for money. The grilled sheep with aubergine and tomatoes was delicious.

I think we got there at a lovely time in the day, close to sunset.
My first disappointment was the fact that I had to ask the waiter to wear his mask correctly as it didn't cover his nose(then why bother??).
We ordered virşli as a starter(for the ones who aren't familiar-it'a a type of sausage from the area), beef and pork ribs for main- and for the drinks: Mediterranean gin and lemonade.
The second disappointment was the extremely long waiting time, more than 80 minutes!
The food was extremely well prepared and it almost excused the delay but I can't say the same about the lousy waiter in whose presence I felt very uncomfortable.

I called to ask if they have Gluten Free options. They answered that they cook everything with BUTTER and cannot offer any dishes without butter. I think that says it all. Gluten is not Lactose, and I think a restaurant should know that.

If you're anywhere within 100 km around Sibiu, this restaurant really worth making a detour for a lunch to remember.
Keep in mind that they only have regional dishes in menu, so if you're looking for pizza, calamari or French fries with mayo, just don't stop here!
After visiting the place in January, we decided to come again to taste the summer menu. Anyway, one thing is clear: their chef can make wonders out of telemea and trout.
Tomato salad with telemea and parsley is to die for. Another hit was the aubergine salad and baked peppers.
The Virşli sausages were delicious, although the homemade mustard sauce was way less spicy than in January.
Ended up the lunch en fanfare with grilled corn on charcoal.
Unfortunately, I was the driver again, so I had to skip the wines.

Kombinat is really a great restaurant that you should definitely check out. It is kinda expensive, but in the end let’s say the dishes are worthy of their prices. An awesome fact about this restaurant is that it uses local ingredients. The cheese based starters were really delicious, especially the mousses. As for the main dishes, the ribs were perfectly cooked, and the corn was really tasty. The beef salad and the schnitzel were great choices as well. The location is also nice, and easily accessible.

We went to Sibiu for a 3-day trip and during one of the evenings, we had a very pleasant dinner at Kombinat. The inside looks really nice and authentic and the food was good as well. My wife chose the trout and I got the pork steak : the trout was very tasty, however, the cauliflower puree was a little too strong for her taste. My truffle puree was great, but I think the pork could have been slightly juicier.
All in all, a very nice restaurant with impeccable service.

The dinner was SOOOOO DELICIOUS, that if I could I would order it again, I tried what I think it was a potato soup with crispy pork, and the flavor was... Out of this world, totally recommendable, also for second dish ordered the beef cheek was soooo soft that I didn't even needed the knife, was amazing. I wish they had one in Barcelona or in Bucarest. The prices for us where reaally good for the quality of the food. The restaurant looks fine, with his rustic touch guess would be called. The personnal was 10/10.

If you are in Sibiu you need to check this out. The food is very good as the staff is very observant to client’s needs.
We started with a potato cream soup served with pork rinds and sprinkled with cumin powder. Then we had a portion of Virstli sausages and a side of mashed beans, including two small breads cooked on the barbecue grill.
As the main course we served pork steak with honey and cinnamon sauce served alongside mashed potatoes with truffles and some local pickled vegetables. We could not serve desert because we were stuffed by the end of the mai course. I can say that the deserts looked good and probably very tasteful.
What I did not like was the fact that the menu is not that rich(hence the 4 stars instead of 5 - two soups, some local starters, four main dishes, a couple of deserts and that’s about it). They probably go for: small varieties with great taste which for most of people is fine. But the dishes in it for sure are very good.
We will surely return to Kombinat next time we we visit Sibiu.

Another cool sounding posh establishment, slightly inattentive but arrogant waiters while playing hectic, even when the place is not crowded. Kitchen staff is focused on showing of with artistic moves than focusing on the product. Don’t come hungry, most of beers not available as draft … doar la sticla… no acceptance of personal changes to the menu. It takes forever… a good place to warm up but not to eat …

Came for a food festival, but stopped for lunch here. Absolutely impressive. A long awaited departure from classic Sibiu food which is just dull in most reputable places. Everything was tasty, full of flavour and good looking too. Great pricing too. Food took a little long to arrive (about 40 mins.), but service was friendly and the terrace was cozy. Some great drinks are available, but the wine offer could be more impressive.
All in all, great food. Next time I'll be in Sibiu, this is my first stop.

I am a gluten free vegan and my boyfriend is all about protein and steak; it's very rare for the two of us to leave a restaurant and feel equally pleased and full. The waiter and cooks did their best to accommodate my preferences and my food was great, I ordered four meals. My boyfriend's steak was a perfect medium rare and his beer was awesome as well. The overall ambiance was also nice, with good music and industrial style decor. 10 out of 10 for waiter' services, 10 out of 10 for the food, 10 out of 10 for restaurant looks and feel

I've visited this location for more than 10 times and each time it was more than great. The staff was professional and friendly each time, the food here is amazing especially due to the fact they change the menu every 3-6 months, having a summer, fall and winter menu, the place looks very nice and the atmosphere is pleasant. For food i want to mention that during the winter menu, my favourite dishes are the beef cheeks and the urda mousse, which is one of my favourite deserts ever.

We chose to dine at Kombinat because we liked the values on which it is based this restaurant: they use local products, the menu is short and adapted to the season, they talk about caring for nature and about “the pleasure of a meal taken in peace with loved ones. ”
We had:
1. The "Green Garden" salad with extremely fragrant fresh tomatoes, perfectly made beef tenderloin, and on top were strips of matured sheep's milk cheese.
It is a balanced and filling salad, very fresh, I practically felt like I was eating in a bowl in the summer.
2. Angus beef snitzel made in a crispy crust with new potatoes baked in butter, and next to it was a roasted parsley sauce with mountain bellows cheese and walnuts. Extremely good!!!!
3. For dessert we had: a fine egg cream, covered with a dark chocolate crumble and topped with a raspberry mousse and a Ricotta mousse infused with lovage, walnut crumble, gooseberry, raspberry, blackberry and meringue.
The whole experience at Kombinat was amazing and we will come back!
