We dined in M & M Restaurant after our second day excursion in the town of Mostar. Conveniently located within the town, it did not take long for us to find the restaurant and settle down with friends. Unfortunately, foods were too dry and not...really deliciously made, the pie was more appreciable but others were pretty average. Service was averagely good but they could have been slightly more proactive and helpful towards our large group of students. Ambience was okay though crammed, therefore 6 of us needs to cram at a very small table- which wasn't that great indeed. It was slightly expensive although still worth the price- including the delicacies of the desserts. Overall we had a very average experience and the taste, service and ambience could have been improved to achieve a 4-star or a 5-star rating.More

If you are wanting to try a real food from Herzegovina, not adjusted to Westernised world this is the place. The service is not the best especially if you are tourist therefore you should order strait away before you find your table upstairs. We have...had Bosandki Lonac on this occasion (meat and vegetables cooked in specal way with special herbs). It was good.More

Unpretentious, strategically-located old-town restaurant featuring the usual Bosnian-Croat home-style fare. We liked the greaseless Wiener Schnitzel, the cevapcici, the local vegetable and chicken soup, the Greek style salad and a plate of buttery fresh local cheese: "Kajmak." Desserts were average. The house white wine was,...shall we say, passable. Service was fine. All in all a reflection, imho, of the bittersweet atmosphere that hangs over war-scarred Mostar.More

Overall food quality was below average compared to the restaurants in old town but at the same price level. Pleskavica was served with almost no salt - but the waiter was too busy in talking to his friend outside in a car, so there was...no salt for me... The bread got almost a charcoal so impossible to eat. Sopska Salad included cheap cheese which is weigh below standard - in other restaurants I got sheep or goat cheese served...and again no vinegar and oil was served, so I just shared it with my neighbors on the next table. I also tried to get the second beer, but I probably intimidated my waiter too much, so he stopped serving me & instead started to reorganize all tables around me... As talking to other guest in the restaurant which were sitting next to me, they left almost all their food on their plates since as they told me the soup tastes like out of a can & they felt not welcome...so they chose to go to another restaurant and left. Overall, worse restaurant until now in BiH - and I am doing a round trip for 3 weeks, so probably learned how true local food should taste alike. Sorry, but very high space for improvement. Restaurant gets a second star since at least I can smoke in the restaurant & the beer was served very chilled what I like.More

If you want to try traditional food from Here, this is a good place. You can order from counter by looking at actual food. They are made just as local prepare their food. Think I don't like about most restaurant and coffe shops in this...area, so is for this one, that smoking is allowed.More

Nice and friendly staff. The restaurant is been located near of Neretva river, easy to go. We found it by accident searching around...We didn¨t want to eat at the stari most, the old river, food was bad and only kebabs.....I felt that I was somewhere...in Turkey and not in Bosnia. Well, I recomend M&M because you don¨t eat food for tourists there!! 12 euro for two plates and a coke. Was really cheap!!!!!!! Bosnian people eat there and this was a sign that you couldn¨t be disappointed in there!More

I've read the reviews but still I wasn't sure what to expect. The place feels like a cafeteria, they have a selection of salads, baked veggies, stews, grilled meats, pies and bakery style buns in both sweet and savoury fillings. You place your order with...staff behind the counter, they put it on a plate and heat it up whilst you take a seat, once your food is ready, they bring it around to your table with bread and your bill. You pay when you leave. I'm no expert on Bosnian food, but it tasted alright and had that home feel kind of cooking, rusty and comforting. In terms of prices, I was happy to pay for what I had ordered: rice, salad, baked veggies, two stews and small water, the cost was 13.5 marks, and it was reasonable serving. Only one staff spoke decent English, but I got by, all the other staffs were friendly. Definitely would recommend this place and come back here again.More

A good selection of typical Bosnian food in a traditional restaurant which - unlike most others - has a no-smoking area (upstairs to the right)! I recommend the meat in vine leaves with rice! The owner's family has been in the area more than 400...years.More
