We came to this beautiful place,in a charming square in the old KOTOR town after reading a lot of many positive reviews; The place is beautiful and charming. We choose a Mussels plate as starter and it was just ok.We need to add some salt/peppers/lemon and olive...oil,otherwise was lacking of taste..We also ordered a seafood spaghetti and gnocchi with shrimps and truffle salse, which seems to be their signature dish..If you like and know a bit about Italian pastas and their way to make them, you will hate unfortunately..Spaghetti well cooked and not “al dente”,with its salse almost no taste..also more salt and pepper save it..The Gnocchi for me seems to be industrialized one,but I’m not so sure, reminds me those ones that we buy at supermarket (Italian brands),the shrimp salse came with very very small shrimps..So,summarizing,below all expectations unfortunately. But the waiter GOCE was super friendly and professional!!Just the food was bad for us.More

So good we went twice in two days! The truffle gnocchi and meat and cheese plate were definite highlights! Ambiance was lovely and the food reasonably priced. Staff were friendly and attentive and very knowledgeable about the food.

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel. We pre booked, if outdoor seating wa red then this is definately needed. Great service, lovely food. Mushroom risotto was al dente and very tasty. Lovely live music by an independent musician in the square. Would return.

This restaurant was recommended to us by our hotel receptionist. We were lucky to find such a great place for a dinner in a cosy and romantic ambiance. The location of the restaurant in a little square adds to the charm of the place. The...tuna & pistachio salad and the beef tagliata are delicious. The portions are quite generous and reasonably priced. Last but not least, I can't help commending enough Damian for his exceptionally professional service, very nice attitude and attention to details, much appreciated!More

We ordered the Greek salad and fish soup to start and the cuttlefish risotto and grilled squid for our mains. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The ambience was pleasant, with a rustic nautical theme and candle-lit tables.

The restaurant is located in the old city-center in a lovely old stone house. The interior is wonderful, the service was kind and professional. We ordered a local mix plate for appetizer and a fish plate for main course, both were delicious! The recommended domestic...wine was a really good pairing! Wonderful experience, highly recommended!More

Tucked away a bit off the beaten track, but well worth seeking out I’ve been here 3 times on my 2 week visit to Kotor, each time excellent. My first meal was so memorable I had the exact sme meal for my last. Waiters all...fluent in English, excellent local beer. Don’t miss the Greek Salad and Grilled Octopus.More

Located in old city, offering you luscious food, great ambiance and perfect service. Portions will be much more bigger than you expect so be careful not to order many things at once. The next time I visit Kotor, Scala Santa will be the first restaurant...I would come by.More

We ordered grilled octopus, tuna steak and sea bass fillet. All were very delicious. The drinks were fine. The atmosphere inside was very impressive. We were like dining in the medieval age.

Trip Advisor came through for us again. We were lucky not to compete with crowds due to the chilly October weather. Pulling from among the top of the Trip Advisor list, this place offered a cozy refuge from the wind, with no reservation required. Casual...dress seemed sufficient; we weren't alone. We ordered the meat platter to share. The steak was so tender and flavorful, we hesitated using the tasty mushroom sauce that was matched to it for dipping. The pork with caramelized onions was a unique taste that we equally enjoyed. Prices were reasonable, especially if compared to nearby Dubrovnik. Serving size was perfect for us. Service was extremely attentive. On our way out of the old town, a competing restaurateur tried to pull us in for a bite at his establishment. When we let him know that we just finished dinner at Konoba Scala Santa, he acknowleded that it was one of his favorite places to eat as well.More

We had a nice dinner here yesterday. I had the beef spicy wok, which was not too spicy and with a lot of well cooked vegetables. My girlfriend had some aop pasta, which were a bit to oily but ok. Having tried already 3 locations...in Kotor we can say that this was the best.More

Strolling by, we just see the happy faces on eaters, and decided to take a seat. Luckily we got one, as throught the 90 mnts we were there the place was full. One of the best sea food fishes i ever had. Fried kalamari made...to perfection and seafood rizzoto best i had. Just right in any parameter. Add to this Profesional yet friendly service and you had a perfect dinner to finish your day.More
