Restaurant Žar Mance - Kisačka 6, just 7 minutes walk from the city center offers over 15 types of barbecue grill. To continue through the figures, 30 years of tradition and total capacity of 60 seats are available in the heart of Novi Sad. At the same address is Hostel S with parking and more than 100 beds. Besides the rich offer of barbecue, the restaurant offers a wide selection of soups, deserts, homemade wines and brandy, beer ... A fabulous ambience, friendly staff and quality snacks will make them feel at home!

Good tasting food and a menu in English

Not sure if this restaurant is under new management. There were balloons encircling the entrance and many gift bags on display and we were told that it had only been opened 2 days. We note there are reviews from December 2020 and then a gap. We were impressed by the cleanliness of the meat storage cabinet and the cook’s handling of the raw foods. We watched him remove, wash tongs and other serving utensils several times before replacing them. We enjoyed a chicken soup, a serve of mixed grilled vegetables, a large portion of stuffed sliced pork and a small portion of stuffed chicken breast. Neither meat dish was what we expected but we liked them. The pork consisted of a thin medallion of pork topped with melted cheese and covered with a slice of ham. Like a cordon bleu but unrolled and without the crumbs. The chicken was similar. It had the ham cut into small pieces and had been mixed with the cheese before being grilled on top of the cooked chicken breast. We recommend this restaurant for a cheap eat with cheap drinks.

My waiter was very friendly. I recommended the try chicken kebabs wrapped in bacon. All the food was excellent.

Excellent but come on time and finish before 22.00 your dinner before 22´o clock

The welcome by Nataša and Filip was great. The food was good and the local wine excellent. I just rated it 3 because the 2nd time we came we just ordered a glass of wine and had to leave 30 minuten later the restaurant for closing although we still were enjoying the drinks and atmosphere

I live across the street from this place, and whenever i don't have time to prepare a meal myself, Zar is the best option. Stuff is polite and helpful, when i order food, it is always on time and warm, perfectly spiced, just the way I like it. It is great that portions come in several sizes, and prices are exceptable for everyone's wallet.

Unexpectedly bad food

Seeing the amazing reviews on TripAdisor, we decided to visit the place, but it was an extreme dissapointment. One of the worst bbq in Serbia, with no taste whatsoever. Very bad and dissapointing taste of food.

Hi Maja, thank you for your review and comment. However I dont know how to answer you regarding all this, maybe we are not the best ones in the Serbia (what we doubt 🧐), but to be the worst ones we can hardly believe in that. We are sorry for your bad experience and not being satisfied with the best bbq in Novi Sad, if you ever change your mind, you know where you can find us. Cheers..

Charcoal barbecue homemade style. Honestly one of the best ones in Serbia. Great place for families, couples or you can have wonderful breakfast outside in the sunny garden.

Great food and friendly staff. The best bbq in Novi Sad, quality meat and original way of preparing. My recommendation: raonello meatballs, you can find it only here. Money saver also, for the pleasure. You will still probably spend it here, since the place has variety of drinks and good atmosphere to enjoy them, especially in the evening. Don't miss!

Great first dinner

We went to dinner here about 3 hours after we arrived in Serbia. It was an excellent introduction to grilled meats and hospitable people - something we would encounter a lot in the next two weeks. Our waiter was super friendly: practicing his English, giving us tips on where to go out and recommended that we try chicken kebabs wrapped in bacon. Not something I would normally order, but turned out to be some of the most moist and tasty chicken I've had in a long time. All the food was excellent and a really good value. The atmosphere was fun and the place started to fill up with locals around 10pm. Someone brought over a bird in a cage to a table with a child - no idea what was going on, but it brought a smile to my face!
