We are Americans who are visiting Lviv doing humanitarian aid. Never have experienced Uzbek cuisine so we visited Chaykhana Samarkand and left with a delightful opinion of this food. The Uzbek salad had the freshest of of lettuces, tomatoes, peppers, etc. accompanied by a refreshing...dressing. Don’t miss the warm, fresh based lavash. The addition of chick peas was a nice surprise. We were urged to try the 2 national dishes of Uzbekistan-Plov, a rice dish with lamb and vegetables and Samsa, turnovers with a meat filling and light flaky dough. Both were delicious. Service was efficient and extremely friendly. Would return again if we weren’t headed back to Florida, where sadly there’s no Uzbek food to be found.More

The tasty authentic Uzbekistan cuisine! The interior and style are perfect. Very cozy and friendly staff. My recommendations. BTW. You can get the half portion of meal if you want. At 14 is time for the PLOW;)

Wonderful authentic place. We've met there administrator who is native Uzbek, I think this is important for ethno restaurant. Food was great, and it seems that we've drunken real kok choy 95! So kata rahmat!

I highly recommend this restaurant which is not far from Old Town Lviv. Just outstanding! I had lamb shake and laghman as well as excellent tea.

I just wanted a bite to eat... But that smell! It stank terribly, the smell came from the first floor, but it was so strong! I couldn't relax and enjoy my food.

DISASTER. Food was not tasty. They used margarine instead of real oil. Food was cold. Samsa was cold and oily, unbeatable. Plov served in a tiny portion like a Mazzete. But no problem, since it was dry like a piece of wood. They put a...lemon inside in order to compensate the taste of the dried meat. Food was dull and disastrous. Keep away.More

Dear guest, please don't even think about eating here !!! With such thoughts and attitudes, it's really better not to go to restaurants. You have come to eat traditional Uzbek cuisine and is not what did you expect else. If you eat samsa in Central...More

My favourite place in Lviv for food. The restaurant is managed by a family that moved to the city from Uzbekistan. The atmosphere is fantastic, the food is delicious, the owners are really nice people. Highly recommend for anyone who wants to try new cuisine.

Very nice ambience. The booths upstairs make it a special experience. We are vegetarians and ordered beetroot salad and the pumpkin dumplings. Unfortunately they gave us the lamb ones but it was one of those lost in translation moments :) would go back

I took a group of ten there a few days ago. The service was excellent. The atmosphere so charming and unique and the food was very good. We tried the dumplings and Samsa as appetizers and most had some type of lamb dish which was...delicious. I lost the receipt and needed it for business purposes and they were able to email me one in the US. Very impressed.More

The restaurant is an amazing place. The inside looks nice and the food is amazing. Everything will be made fresh and quick. The menu is huge with a lot of traditional Uzbek food such as Plov. We ordered 2 starters and two mains, a bread...and two drinks. This was a total of 442 UAH (€16). For Western Europeans, this is an insane value for your money! We highly recommend the restaurant!More

This is an authentic and very cosy restaurant. For a very reasonable price we got a number of different dishes which we enjoyed very much. And probably the lamb with apricot takes the price as best dish. With the pleasant service and the price, the...authenticity it is simply a must try.More
