Excellent experience with a great staff! Food and ambiance were incredible! A must do when in Dubrovnik. And start with a glass of wine at their sister wine bar at m”arden!

Great place a bit out of the crazy tourist area, which was nice. We had wonderful local wine, black risotto with scallops and the pasta and beef. All very tasty and complimented by great Service.
Fancy looking food in a nice environment, but they're churning out crap because they don't have to try. The cruise ships and tour guides are serving up gullible tourists every day. I tried the seafood set menu, which is always going to be a touristy...option and designed for quick meals, but it's no excuse for serving bad food. For maybe the second time in my life, I sent a dish back. The fisherman's soup seemed to be unseasoned and unflavoured stock with some lumps of white fish and a few grains of rice. It had a little flavour after adding salt but simply wasn't worth eating. The waiter offered to bring a freshly prepared one which was appreciated, but the replacement was much the same, aside from being insanely scalding hot and having raw rice in it. Truffle pasta with prawns was not bad, but also fairly unimaginative, lacking any flavour beyond cream and truffle. There were some little orange bits which I think we're the prawns but it was honestly hard to tell. The highlight of the dish was the basil leaf garnish. The desert chocolate cake was .... also there. If this is some of the best food in the old town, like the guides say, I don't want to think what the rest is like.More
Really enjoyed our trip, visited due to recommendation and review video on you tube. Work a visit, we ordered the cockerel and it was delicious. Gets busy so would advise booking in advance
This restaurant was recommended but I was a little disappointed with my choice of main meal.the Croatian chicken dish was not to my taste. But that’s my problem. My starter of black risotto with scallop was excellent. If going again I would have the sea bass.
Only those who can climb plenty of stairs should venture, but the view is great and it is perhaps the on restaurant i Dubrovnik serving food cooked on the basis of ancient recipes. Some of us had their chicken (hence the name of the restaurant)...with cooked fruit which was delicious.More
Fantastic reception, pleasant staff, very kind. Top location. The place is wonderful. the food is excellent. All restaurant recommendations.
This is a particular review as we wanted to thank you for holding our bags for us before our flight!
Lovely fresh food full of flavours. Especially liked the Beef with Croquettes and Gnocchi . Relaxing location
The terrace is wonderful, very spacious on a pretty square away from the bustle "downtown". The cooking is local, the dishes are tasteful and well prepared. The staff is both professional and friendly. The prices are reasonable.
We have been staying in Dubrovnik for four days now and tried a few restaurants, this one stood out for the quality of their food. In particular the squid ink risotto which is a speciality here was the best out of three that we tried....Situated at the top of the Jesus steps it’s also easy to find. The other advantage is that’s it’s in a well spaced out airy square, much better than being squeezed in the baking side streets. Price wise it’s pretty much par for the course for Dubrovnik, their set meals seem very fair when you consider the quality of the food.More
On our visit to Dubrovnik, we ended up at this restaurant unplanned as we were looking for a restaurant where we could sit inside in air conditioning because of the heat. This was possible at this restaurant and although we did not know what to...expect from the food, the food from the lunch suggestions we ordered was extremely tasty. The service was also very friendly and very professional. We can recommend this restaurant.More
Very good service! We had for the main seafood stew with polenta. For pudding cheesecake and chocolate cake. You could tell everything was home made, fresh and good quality ingredients. Lovely location. Highly recommended!
My wife and I were on a 2 week vacation in Europe. This was probably one of the top 3 places we ate at throughout our trip! The seafood stew for 1 pax was fresh and delicious. Safe to say, it was the best seafood...stew I have ever eaten. The Kopun chicken dish was tasty, with just the right amount of saltiness and sweetness. The flavor of orange perfumed the dish well without overpowering it. 100% would come back again.More
I don’t like writing negative reviews but in light of the fact that I went to this restaurant after having read the reviews on Trip Advisor I feel I must. We were recommended this restaurant by the host at our accommodation. The setting was beautiful...and the brow was lovely but the prices were exorbitant and undeserved - no mains under 24 Euros. My meal cost 34 Euros. At that price I really expect something special. I ordered the seafood stew. The food arrived way too quickly - pre-prepared seafood is always over-cooked. It had three minuscule prawns in it, half the size of my pinkie finger. The muscles and clams were tiny and rubbery. The stew itself was very bland. The pieces of fish in the stew still had all the bones in them. The others at our table ordered the calamari with beetroot salad and the the Dubrovnik Kapon which were passable but nothing special. The wait staff were polite and friendly but we had to pour our own wine and water as they were inattentive. We paid 180 Euros for four people.More
