Came here after reading about the restaurant in a guide of best restaurants in the area and SO pleased we did.
Everything is perfection - the setting, the food, the service. Cannot recommend highly enough.
You must try the black risotto. Whilst every restaurant in the area claims its their speciality, this one truly is special.
The Selection of fish depends on the catch of the day but we had an incredible grilled tuna and a wonderful fish platter.
For wine we went with the recommendation of the host and were not disappointed. Overall we had 2 starters, 3 mains (incl the fish platter which is more expensive), one dessert and a bottle of wine for 3 people and it was approx 1200kn.
Make sure you make this a stop on your trip. Currently quiet so you may get the restaurant to yourselves like we did but in usual circumstances, booking advised.

We would never have known about this restaurant only it was recommend by a waiter in a restaurant in the old town.
Don’t let it put you off that it’s outside the city. We got an Uber and the coastal drive was beautiful, approx 20mins.
Zayton bay is a beautiful small fishing village. There only seems to be two restaurants, cousins of each other a local told us. It’s an unbelievably relaxed place. Beautiful fresh fish in an amazing setting, sitting on decking right on the crystal clear water.
We had prawn tagliatelle and the mixed seafood platter. Portions were much bigger than expected and quality was really good. Had the mixed seafood with black risotto, wasn’t a huge fan of it but more my taste than the quality. If trying to find fault I would stay that the muscles were very small. Everything else was very nice but like most fish restaurants here it’s a little expensive.
Would highly recommend the walk to the church cemetery and cave up the hill behind the restaurant. The view at the top is incredible. (The cave is at the bottom of cliffs, not accessible). Just make sure tej restaurant is open before you travel as I think it’s closed from mid October / early November until May.

The location is amazing - right on the waterfront so you can look down at the edge of the terrace and watch the fish. The food was great - lovely fresh local tuna and anchovies and really well-made pasta, although the accompaniments were less memorable. The service was a little odd, sometimes friendly and sometimes strangely unsmiling. And various local cats came to say hello and beg for a treat, which me and my daughter thought was lovely but might not be everyone’s idea of a good thing!

Thank you for being our guest and for writing us a review. Nice to hear that you have enjoyed food here and the ambience as well . We are sorry to hear that the service was a little odd - all of us can have a hard day in a summer season, we are humans . We are working hard and putting a lot of effort into this place. This restaurant is pet friendly place , we are having 2 cats (14 years) and small dog (3 years ) and they are not begging for the threats because they are well fed . But we sometimes have these street cats begging for food and the guests always give them a little bit of a meal and they keep coming . They never jumped on the tables , but you are right , not all the guests are fan of cats ...

We ate here last night and it was wonderful. A stormy evening so impossible to eat outside however the interior was delightful. An old boat house, the restaurant was candle lit with a roaring fire in the corner. Beautiful flowers on every table. The service was friendly and extremely professional. We were made to feel extremely welcome. The food was delightful. I had pasta with mushroom, cheese and truffle. I love pasta and this is one of the best I have tasted. My husband had seafood risotto which looked amazing, and tasted, he said, equally so. We shared some fresh grilled langoustines which were perfectly cooked delicious. This bay is a special place, and this is a special restaurant. We will definitely be back.

I am a local and have visited most of the local restaurants. I know Kasar from long ago when it was known for a fresh seafood dishes. The good thing is that hasn't changed but there is an upgrade in the way the food is prepared. I was specially amazed by the quality and taste of the black risotto which is for me the best I have tasted in Dubrovnik County or even the best of all I have tasted. Just a wish to preserve that quality.

amazing food. Amazing setting. Amazing service. The location is hard to find and we felt like we were completely lost driving through narrow residential roads but when we finally found Kasar it was like a total gem. Right on the water and buzzing with excitement from the other lucky patrons who had heard of this place. It was such a relief to eat dinner at a restaurant that was not a tourist trap and served fresh, amazing food in a unique and private setting.

Kasar easily became our favorite restaurant in Zaton. The menu offers a nice variety of fish, vegetarian, and traditional meat dishes, and the oysters come directly from nearby Ston. Prices are reasonable and food quality is excellent. Everyone on staff, from the friendly servers to the talented chefs, make you feel right at home. Service is wonderful and the bayside setting makes dining at Kasar a truly memorable experience.

Just wow! Incredible food, incredible view and excellent service. The food was so fresh and delicious, the seafood pasta was amazing and the ingredients were local. Rocket and tomatoes from the owners garden. The waiter was attentive and informative about the food. The view was amazing, eating such fresh delicious food whilst looking out on the clear blue sea was just lovely. Tasty puddings too. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant more.

This is simply a great restaurant. A large group of us stayed in the town for a week and eat here three times. The food is great - simple food cooked simply. The service is great. We eat there one night during a massive thunderstorm and the staff were great. They really took care of us.

We just returned to Sun Gardens Resort from having dinner at Kasar, this was an all around exceptional experience, the setting, the people and especially the food. The fish is literally just off the boat, creative appetizers, and the nicest people putting it all together. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

Beautiful setting, excellent food and friendly service. We ordered the halibut to share and I’ve never tasted fish like it. There was a good choice of desserts and both the chocolate and the white chocolate/coffee/mar Capone dessert was to die for!

You maybe drawn here for the incredible location, calm secluded bay to watch the sun go down on the waters edge. See the fish in the crystal clear Adriatic but actually the food is even better than the view.
Hugely appreciative staff, that you’ve chosen their restaurant.
The bread is the best we’ve tasted in Croatia, the grilled shrimp are huge and the selection of catch of the day cooked to perfection. I chose scorpion fish from the platter and it was fabulous.
Definitely save space for the pudding, soft chocolate torte like cake with a hint of marmalade or the coffee surprise macaroons or the caramel custard.

We had a beautiful evening for our anniversary. Leo and Ivan took such good care of us we will remember their service and this night for many years to come! Beautiful evening and delicious food and wine over a stunning background. Our steak was cooked perfectly and seafood was flavorful and filling! Hvala for a lovely night!

Kasar's was one of the most incredible dining experiences I have had EVER. The food was amazing and the service was world class. The hospitality we experienced from Marco was genuinely the best ever. From the moment we stepped into the restaurant we were looked after and made to feel so special and welcome. We cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. Sensational food and the most exceptional service from Marco. One of the most memorable experiences in our holiday. Thanks so much

Idyllic views next to the sea, great customer service and delicious food. A real treat. Tuna carpaccio, grilled fresh turbot and the chocolate/coffee mascarpone dessert (also the chocolate/carob orange cake were highlights for us.
Fabulous vibe. This restaurant keeps getting better.
