What say about last night dinner. Small and quiet place, but more comfortable than other bigger restaurant. Our waitress Mateja recommended us fresh oysters and sushi rolls with fresh groceries. Taste, decoration and perfectly rolled sushi (agemaki, tiger, philadelphia rolls and tuna carpaccio...something you must have eat) Also, Mateja recommended us excellent croatian wines.
Ambient: 5, food: 5 top level of sushi, service: waitress Mateja give us higher service with her suggestions and recommendations. The fusion of that all, is the best sushi what we ever eaten.

We visit Sushi bar in february and it was great! Waitress offered fresh tuna so we had tuna tartar which was the best part of our dinner, spicy tuna roll and tiger roll. Great wine recommendation, poship from here around. Waitress Mateja was very polite and helpful. We'll be back!

Pleasantly surprised. Wasn't sure what to expect. Craving something different and I love sushi. Slightly hidden away from the main part of the old town and has a sexy cocktail bar restaurant atmosphere. High stools. Limited seating. Staff were super friendly, so sweet and helpful. The sushi and sashimi were nice. Very fresh and really well prepared. Longest I have ever had to wait for sushi after ordering but when it came out, you could tell it was really freshly made. Delicious. They probably need to work on presentation more. The menu isn't huge and they don't have many 'platter offers'. You more or less make your own sushi plate and it's priced per piece. Highly recommend. We were lucky we went late afternoon for lunch but I am guessing you may struggle to get a seat in the evening so book.

We ordered Bota weekly for take out while dining rooms were closed during Covid. The food was always amazing, especially the tuna and white fish, which they fish for themselves.
This past Thursday we were able to finally go into Old Town and eat on their gorgeous terrace. The service was fantastic. Josepa took great care of us, making a spectacular local wine recommendation and telling us all kinds of tips about visiting Croatia. The chef Andela (Angela) came out to visit us after we had been speaking to her on the phone when we ordered take away. She was very kind and welcoming, even checking on us between courses to ensure we enjoyed our meals.
I didn’t think it was possible, but the food was EVEN BETTER in person. First we ordered oysters, which are harvested daily from their family farm in Ston. They were the beat I’ve ever had. They had a slightly sweet taste and were super tender and meaty. Then we had a sashimi plate to sample what fish we wanted on our nigiri. The salmon was good, but it isn’t local, so it paled in comparison to the tuna and whitefish. We also shared a fantasy roll, and it was outstanding.
I’m not usually a dessert person, but it had turned into such a special dining experience, that we decided to splurge. We ordered the chocolate cake. It was the best cake I’ve ever had. It resembled a chocolate cheesecake, however the crust was made of banana and pastry, like a very thin banana cream pie, and the filling was a very fine chocolate mousse. It was topped with strawberries. It was divine.
Thank you, to Andela and Josepa for making our first time out since Covid started such a special experience! We will for sure be back!

I decided to treat myself to some good local seafood and sushi and this gem is what I stumbled upon. The tuna tartar was spectacular. But the service really took the cake this particular time. I got service from 2 waitresses, Josipa and Mateja ( I hope I'm correct 😀 ), who did their job perfectly. They gave me good suggestions about food and wine, it almost felt like they knew me. They smiled and it was nice to see how they made everybody feel so comfortable. All the best to the girls who made my evening exceptional.

We had a delicious early dinner of beef teriyaki (perfectly cooked), seared tuna and agemaki fantasy roll... the fish was amazingly fresh 👌🏼 We also enjoyed a tasty chocolate banana cake that was to die for.
In addition, Ana and Stefan were so friendly and made for an extremely cozy atmosphere... Jazz music also on point 🥰

The food, service & wine was so amazing we visited twice during our short stay in Dubrovnik. The sushi was some of the best we have ever had (the Agemaky fantasy is an absolute must) and very reasonably priced considering the exceptional quality. Both Mateja and Jospia were fabulous, would highly recommend!

As recommended by our local Airbnb owners, we were excited to try Oyster & Sushi Bar Bota and WOW - it was spectacular! First we were kindly greeted by Ana who helped make our evening a terrific one! She provided us with a complimentary liqueur upon our arrival, helped us pick out a nice bottle of wine and then guided us through the menu to share her local and fresh fish recommendations. The tuna tartare was the best we’ve ever had! We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered: tuna tartare, spring rolls bota, spicy tuna roll and the teriyaki steak. Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for quality food and exceptional service! And.... don’t forget to ask for Ana!

We spent our first evening in Dubrovnik at Bota and we were really flashed. Fresh and baked oysters, tender tuna tartar, crispy shrimp tempura and the sushi was just outstanding. Our waitress Jošipa was very friendly, recommended us a nice bottle of Pošip and even offered us a homemade Traverica on the house. The Date-cake was the perfect ending for a perfekt first evening.

I ordered tuna carpaccio and received a bowl of diced tuna with pieces measuring about 5 to 7 mm, which I was apparently expected to somehow eat using chopsticks. As far as I'm aware, carpaccio means thinly sliced, not ground into bits, so this was pretty weird as far as I'm concerned. As I'm not a total klutz, I managed it with the sticks, but that was not the experience I was expecting or looking for. I'm guessing that instead of the carpaccio I asked for they gave me tartar, which the waiter had recommended to me, but I was not interested in at all. The "AGEMAKY FANTASY" I had afterwards was pretty damn good though. Also, the Dingac wine served by the glass was very good.
All in all though, I feel the entire experience, albeit enjoyable, was over-priced. Something that pisses me off personally, is that when we asked beforehand if we could pay by card and could also put a tip on by card, we were told that this was not possible, because "the boss has to pay 25% tax over that and he doesn't like that". So, I guess I'm a royal schlemiel for walking all the way to the main street to find an ATM to withdraw some cash just so I could tip the staff. FYI, withdrawing cash from an ATM around here comes at a high cost if you're a foreigner, so this is the way you get screwed over twice. When restaurants tell you you can't put a tip on by card, it's a load of bull. They all use the same or similar card machines, and they all can put any amount in that machine to charge you, so they all can put a bloody tip on there without a doubt. I've even been to restaurants multiple times and got told that it wasn't possible to do this, while the day before it wasn't a problem to do so at all. So yeah, I'm rather displeased about restaurants pulling this sort of crap, which had a significant impact towards the final score.

Dear Rainer
We regret to hear your experience has not been enjoyable.
What we are known for is a fusion of Asia and Dalmatia cuisine, so what you noticed, those slight differences in the dishes, are our own twist as we do understand fish, especially, blue fin tuna very much so, being national champions in big game fishing and winners of 3rd world place in offshore championship, as well. Our background are three generations of fishermen and chefs, who have taught us about handling fish and cooking.
We have escalated this statement about cash payment and it seems there was a big misunderstanding, potentially, due to English language. We made sure to improve communication with our guests. We do hope that Agemaky and Dingac is what you will take away as a memory with you, in the end.
Best wishes, BOTA DU team

This was an amazing experience. Even though we came during Covid 19 they were strict with protocol and respected distance. The service was also very good, the women that served us Anna was very kind and patient because it took a little bit to order. The menu had a good selection and the food was fresh and clean. We had been to the one in Zagreb which was also very nice. We didn’t expect it to be different but the experience in both was great. You should definitely come here and was again a great experience.

The oysters and sushi are absolutely delicious! Our Server, Josipa, gave exceptional service! She had great knowledge of the menu. She told us how fresh our seafood was down to the hours they were brought in from the Adriatic Sea. We can assure you it will not disappoint! Her knowledge of wine!! She went above and beyond to take the time to show me a few bottles and how they were aged under the sea. She told us about the owner and his passion of the seafood. She also gave us information on Oyster experience at Mali Ston and Extreme Fishing Bota. We are definitely coming back!

The location of the restaurant was very nice with the cutest little terras which makes it cozy. Because you don’t have a lot of space outside the tables are limited so I would recommend to make a reservation. The service was great, the only thing we unfortunately didn’t like was the sushi. We are sushi lovers and however the sushi was fresh it was just a bit tasteless. The pieces were to big and didn’t taste like a good sushi should. If you go here just go for the cosy terras and nice service but don’t count on great sushi. Food was not really worth the price.

The food here was exceptional. Really different options to what we’re used to in the UK for a Japanese restaurant. The panko rolls were a personal favourite, along with the tempura oysters. The service was exceptional as well - would definitely recommend if you’re visiting Dubrovnik
