This is a fine dining restaurant with a small but unique menu. I booked a table here based on a Michelin review which said if you only try one dish it should be the Cold Plate Proto. Whow, it was sublime. Tastes attacking all the...taste buds. I was served by a waiter named Mikula who looked after me very well and made me feel very comfortable even though I only order the one dish. No judging here, which is how any restaurant should behave. It is expensive but you understand why when dining here.More

Delicious food with great flavours and perfectly cooked. The staff were accommodating and the restaurant is at a great location. I'd highly recommend their seafood dishes and their cold dish and snails cooked in red wine sauce in particular.

I came here twice and when I came for lunch, I had the chewiest octopus I’ve ever had. I told the waiter I couldn’t have balsamic yet my octopus came with it all over. The waiter wasn’t kind about making it correct which shocked me...for a Michelin star restaurant. For dinner, my meal was much better but there was still issues. The fish platter for 2 was really great! The waiter at dinner was better than lunch. The ambiance was good but nothing compared to other Michelin star restaurants I’ve been at.More

My father and I had a wonderful lunch here! Niki was our waiter and took great care of us. I had the tasting menu (absolutely perfect) while my father had a delicious steak. We enjoyed every plate and drink and would highly recommend.

Unfortunately 4 out of 16 of our party got sick from this restaurant. We were all sick around 10 hours after eating there. We were all sick for 36 to 48 hours.

There are several excellent restaurants in this unique city and Proto is up there with the best of them. Michelin rated, and on this visit fully deserving of this accolade, Proto has outside and inside seating as well as a beautiful terrace area which we...were fortunate to get a booking for a few days earlier. It had a real buzz about it. Our server was refreshingly honest in her suggestions not just for us but for the surrounding customers, and clearly did not have a conflict of interest about the cost. Tuna tartar and the scallops tartar served both as square blocks were equally delicious with the tuna just coming out on top. Fettuccine with shrimps topped with a generous gift of truffle flakes was not too creamy just right, while the black risotto was sublime. No space left to sample their desserts after this feast. Looking to write a balanced review with some criticism, we cannot think of any, it was that good.More
