Superb! Group of friends wanting a special lunch for our day in Split. So glad we chose to come here! Tuna sashimi was outstanding, pate was delicious and light, tuna steak, scampi risotto and pork steak were all to die for. Fantastic food, fantastic service!

The restaurant is in an a fantastic location close to the palace walls, we sat outside in the courtyard with a great ambience (and heaters). I had the pork dish which was honestly one of the best meals I have ever eaten, the tenderest meat...with perfect accompaniments. The wine was excellent and the service unobtrusive but exceptional. Very small portions of not very good food with soggy, tasteless monkfish and tough, gristly veal (which we ended up giving to the cat!) and ridiculously small portions of not very nice but very expensive wine left us feeling used and abused. The boss ignored...our comments!More

Tucked away in one of the little streets in the older part of Split, this place has a few tables along one of the narrow streets, and a small little backyard in with a few tables in the back, which gives it a really nice...atmosphere. The menu is unique, quite different from the rest of the Split offer - you'll find really surprising combinations on it (like "deconstructed beef tartar" or dalmatian sushi or fish in beans-calamari-slavonian hot sausage sauce) - but they rotate it from time to time, so who knows what you'll find on the menu by the time you read this. The staff is smiling and open for questions, but a bit too willing to help. They also have a nicely curated wine cart. Unfortunately, the food was cold when it got to our table, and not salty at all, so there is still place for improvement.More

Very good alternative menu to the standard Croatian fare. My black pig was excellent; my wife’s risotto was good but not great ; a little too sloppy for a great risotto. Good wine list ; most at the high price point. Worth a visit to...try something a little different. Service was good though tailed off once we got our main courses.More

Mazgoon never disappoints. Professional service with proper knowledge of the menu and wine list - both of which offer really interesting selections. Try the tuna sashimi and chicken liver pate - outstanding! Pick any main - you won’t be disappointed. We’ve tried them all! Their...cocktail bar across the alley does stand out cocktails - great choice of rums and whisky. Tony and Sarah are great hosts and are justifiably proud of what they have created. Discovered this restaurant on the list of best restaurants to try in Split. The website was quite intriguing yet not overly informative. I liked that it described itself as new creative Croatian cuisine and a family owned and operated. It is tucked away at one...of the side allies so if you're not looking for it or just happen to stumble upon it you might not find it.... but you should. We were seated in the interior courtyard which was a beautiful and comfortable setting. We were a group of 5 and since the menu isn't too elaborate we were able to try, sample and share many dishes. The pasta dish we initially wanted wasn't available but the second pasta option was which was delicious and well prepared. All the meat and seafood dishes were also very unique and creative while offering wonderful flavors. The service was very friendly and attentive and the group agreed that it was one of the best dining experiences we've had on the entire trip (and we dined in many placed over the 3 week vacation). I/We would certainly return in the future. Reservations encouraged.More

The waiter was of great advice and directed us towards a great choice of wine. The food was really good and the service was smooth. There was a little wait as the place was packed but real good overall.

I always look for authentic and non-touristy spots, this one was beyond what I hope for. The most charming location off the busy streets of Split. Valentina our waitress was fantastic, she gave us terrific recommendations. I felt like it was truly homemade and the...flavors and freshness was among the best. Incredible homemade bread With homemade butter and absolutely delicious olive oil. I ordered the recommended monkfish that was beyond delicious, my husband had tuna with a mango purée that was absolutely sensational. The gas next to us had a similar experience, they ordered the muscles and thought they were the best they’ve ever had. If ever back we will definitely be back!More
