About
Villa Spiza is a local’s favorite traditional street food restaurant, steps away from the palace walls. This low-key joint offers great quality Dalmatian food and daily changes menu – providing amazing fish dishes, risottos, kinds of pasta and some great meat dishes – at great prices. First, there was a small restaurant placed in a narrow street in the city’s center, but after gained popularity, now they have another space right across it.

This restaurant was fantastic! We got the Dalmatian ham and burrata as an appetizer, both of which were yummy! I got the meatballs and my boyfriend got the carbonara for the main dishes. Both were fantastic! Service was great! We wanted to go back a...second time, but they were closed on Sunday! Highly recommend!More

The food and staff are simply amazing. Couple that with great food and reasonable prices and you have a winner. Go early though as there are limited tables.

I came back to Split 6 years later and re-visited this restaurant. Ordered the tuna with tomato sauce and it was just as I remembered. The best meal you will have in Split, by far. The rest of the family ordered various dishes and everyone...agrees that this restaurant is a true treat.More

Came here for a late lunch (around 3pm) on a weekday. The place was practically empty. We sat outside since the sun was out. Ordered the Pan beer which was pretty good (but not my fave beer in Croatia). To eat, I ordered the prawns...and zucchini pasta, pretty good. My sister got the Alla Norcina pasta which typically comes with truffles but they were out (waiting on shipment), creamy and tasty. Pasta was NOT spectacular but since it was a TripAdvisor favorite as well as a Rivk Steve’s favorite, glad we gave it a try. They charged us an extra 10 kuna for one of the pastas (see the bill). We chose not to say anything this time so we could keep enjoying our day, but also one reason I took off a star. I guess worth trying but can’t say I’ll put it on my list of “must return”.More

Our last night in Split. Decided to try this place having r EA d the reviews and wow it didn’t disappoint. You cannot book. It was good Friday and we got there a little after 6pm. I’m glad we did - there was a queue...down the street by the time we left! Absolutely delicious tuna steak - the waitress offered to reduce the price as she said it was the last steak and smaller - but it didn’t look at all small when it arrived! My 9 year old had the prawn pasta which was delicious and my husband the stingray which he really enjoyed. Titanisu delicious also. What was really great was the atmosphere. Staff ever so warm and friendly - it makes such a difference to be able to have a little laugh and chat to people in the place. I give it 6 stars! Will definitely be back. I could hear other diners comment that they were enjoying the wine that had been recommended.More

Love that they write what is fresh and that is their menu for the day. We went for lunch during off season and had no problem getting a table. Service was very friendly, and the food was sooo flavorful. I am not sure what I...liked the best, my husband and I split a pumpkin soup, the monkfish, and beef stew. The prices were very reasonable for what you got (in my opinion). Our 2 entrees came with grilled polenta which was also amazing. We could't finish everything. Would go back for sure!More

Unpretentious, small, lovely staff singing along to a soundtrack of Boney M and Hall and Oates! Nice vibe, not quite matched by the food. My boiled beef and salsa was a little too tough, to be honest. Reasonably priced, decent wine, but I wouldn’t go...out of my way to revisit.More

Our hotel recommended this restaurant as a "must try" and I would say that was accurate. It's very small and cozy which means you may need to wait for a table but it will be very worth it. We each had fish dishes that were...very fresh and the wine was perfectly paired. Our server was super friendly. Overall we really enjoyed eating is this cozy atmosphere and experiencing authentic Dalamtian cuisine.More

The four of us enjoyed an amazing meal…salad, stuffed cabbage, boiled beef and veal chops. Everything was cooked to perfection and reasonably priced. To top it off we were treated to a shot of local spirits. A thoroughly enjoyable experience!

We tried the sea bass and the veal chops, both very tasty, and 3 glasses of the house wine! The price was ok (about 40€ for 2px) but you need to pay in cash. The waitresses are nice!

Third time here and a little bit underwhelmed. Fish good, service good, pasta mozzarella absolutely terrible. Whoever cooked it never tried it. Only consolation, we were charged for half of it. My tip- go early when full menu still available.
